After 8 years of blissful, semi-tragic and bittersweet stay in the Company, I have finally decided to leave my comfort zone and cross the threshold. Yes, I never thought it was possible but I have finally resigned in my company which has been my second home since forever. When you think about it, if my company and I decided to have a child together, he/ she would have been in second grade. That long.
And yet, i stepped into this new world with breathtaking abandon and youthful exuberance like its my first time. To say that this new job is a life changer would be an understatement. It is both scary and exciting that it feels like I am always on the edge of a cliff, ready to dive.
For starters, I had to finish my driving lessons. I know its 2 years late, but I had to rush my lessons because I will soon be driving not in the traffic ridden manila but in badass streets of New York and open spaced Hawaii. its not really the targets that is scary me to death but my not-so-stellar driving skills.
Second, I am starting to get accustomed to talking to strangers. I know I'm great in sales but its always them who come to me, instead of me initiating the conversation. But this time, i had to remove my suplada vibes and put on my charm 24/7. Admittedly, it was hard for me at first but when I got the hang of things, it was kind of fun knowing that you can earn people's trust with the time of acquaintanceship never being an issue.
Finally, this job would require me to truly be independent--- fend for myself and live without my parents and family's support. I know I felt like i was 'independent' but living with my parents has accorded me with benefits like having household help that would take care of the laundry and dinner when i get home. My dad would be there to drive me places even though I could just get there by myself. This time, na-da. I have to do all that on my own, apart from making my own schedules day by day for the next two months.
I dont know how this job will fan out but so far, I am loving the busy-ness and novelty that it brings. Whatever happens, I would never forget to thank God for blessing me with the gift of new challenges.
And as Laida Magtalas would say, this is me, Version 2.0., Stronger, fiercer, better.

Crazeeee Aquino!
So, this is what two days of voice rest, i.e. no talking, did to me. And no thanks to the steroids i've been taking, my face is as bloated as uhm, a belly full of beer.
Ursula, give me back my frickin' voice! I need it ASAP!
Stubborn, Stubborn Love
VERSE 1She‘ll lie and steal and cheat, and beg you from her knees.Make you thinks she means it this timeShe‘ll tear a hole in you, the one you can‘t repairBut I still love her, I don‘t really careBRIDGEWhen we were young, Oh Oh, we did enoughWhen it got cold, Ooh Ooh, we bundled upI cant be told, Ah Ah It cant be doneVERSE 2It‘s better to feel pain, than nothing at allThe opposite of love‘s indifferenceSo pay attention now, I‘m standing on your porch screaming outAnd I wont leave until you come downstairsCHORUSSo keep your head up, keep your love
Keep your head up, my loveKeep your head up, keep your loveKeep your head up, keep your loveVERSEAnd I don't blame ya dear for running like you did, all these years.I would do the same, you best believeAnd the highway signs say we‘re closed, but I don't read those things anymoreI never trusted my own eyes
BRIDGEWhen we were young oh oh, we did enoughWhen it got cold, Ooh ooh we bundled up.I can‘t be told, Ah ah, it can‘t be done.CHORUSSo keep your head up, keep your loveKeep your head up, my love x2Keep your head up, keep your loveHead up, love x4

Perksquad Goes to Indochina!
Angkor Wat and the Tuktuk ride.
Best coffee in the world!
Ang lakas maka TGIS ng pose.
Naliligaw in Angkor Wat.
Hindi mukhang pagod kahit bugbog sa byahe at lakad.
Tomb Raider.
Night Out in Phnom Penh.
Genocide Museum. Wag malinlang sa saya ng kulay namin. Depressed kami nyan.
Tambay ng airport.
Gimik night in Saigon.
Typical Vietnam Traffic. CRAZY.
Shopping daw.
Miss Saigon.

Oh Cambodia Faithful and Vietnam Moreno Tour by the Walang Tulugan Gang
I just came back from our Annual Perksquad Trip..and this time around, we decided to conquer the land of Lara Croft and Pho-- Cambodia and Vietnam.
As expected, the trip was AWESOME. No, it was even beyond awesome. Its totally something else. It was spectacular, magnificent, fabulous, fantastic and all adjectives to that effect. I could not have asked for a better vacation.
As expected, the trip was AWESOME. No, it was even beyond awesome. Its totally something else. It was spectacular, magnificent, fabulous, fantastic and all adjectives to that effect. I could not have asked for a better vacation.
Why? Okay, let me try to write the reasons down:
1. Vietnamese Coffee- the hype is worth it. This is just the best tasting coffee I ever had. And the greatest thing is that it is ubiquitous in every street corner of Saigon. For coffee addict like me, Vietnam is paradise.
2. Cute Tourists- everywhere. Guys from all over the world in their sandos and board shorts and flip flops. You can just sit in a cafe and watch cute people pass you by, all while drinking the best tasting coffee (see above).
3. Angkor Wat- Angelina Jolie and National Heritage site. Need I say more?
4. Shopping- although i dont consider myself a shopaholic, I totally understand why people go ga-ga over Vietnam and Cambodia. Night Market and their version of tiangge offer dirt cheap items. Total bang for your bucks.
5. Warm,Friendly People- being total magnets of misfortune, we dont know how we would have survived without the help of the locals. We have Kelvin, the tour coordinator who got us tickets to Siem Reap when no other bus companies would take us in, and apparently, he exchanges currencies too. Just a blessing especially on our last day when we were becoming poor from too much shopping (see #4). Vannak, our Ankor Wat tour guide who was just amazing. His knowledge of Siem Reap and his patience and enthusiasm to take our pictures are just commendable. Certainly the best tour guide I met (and I had a lot of tour guide from previous travels, i.e. Paris, Japan, Thailand etc). There was also Mark, the front desk guy from our Saigon hotel who was just too willing to do things for us. Of course, we also met other back packers who made our trip more memorable like the British couple named Nick and Nikki, the Russian couple who spoke little English but smiled and conveyed messages through hand gestures, Simon, the Singaporean photojournalist, The two Canadian bus mates whom we call Prince William (PW) and Prince William's Friend (PWF) and Guy with Great Hair (GWGH)/ Ken who was an inspiration during the long, bumpy ride to SR.
I could go on and on and on but really, the reason why this trip is spectacular is because
6. I am in the company of my bestest best friends
...and that made everything perfect.
I cant wait to discover where our feet and lust for traveling will take us next year.
