I'm so fortunate to attend Mr.A-Z's acoustic concert at the Araneta Coliseum last night. I knew from his previous acoustic album that his songs become more awesome if played sans the full band. I was right.
I didnt really get the Al Qaeda beard he's got going but it grew on me after watching him perform live. He's born to be a hippie---- the barefoot, soulful, tree-hugging hippie.
Mas lalong naging deadly ang combination ni Papa Jason: Insane Guitar Skills- Souful and Impeccable voice- Gyrating/ Silly dance talent, and now, the Kindred Artist vibe. Wala na.
So anyway, in the attempt na mag standout just in case may pagkuha ng audience papunta ng stage moment, nag Fire engine red top ako and red lipstick bilang agaw atensyon lang talaga. Yun nga lang, masyadong malayo ang upuan namin para makita nya ako . UNLESS Meant to be talaga kami. Whatchuthink? huh? Huh?
Maybe due to the popularity of the song I'm Yours, Jason Mraz was able to fill the entire Coliseum (except the portion behind the stage). For an acoustic concert featuring Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera alone, That is considered a huge success by any standard. I just hated the organizers and the venue for not ensuring a better sound system. We barely understood what Jason was saying.

JASON MRAZ, i think may something tayo. You like walking barefoot, I almost walked barefoot (dahil sa heels ko kahapon), you have an intense beard, I have facial hair with the same intensity. We should get married. I don't think my dad will object bilang naka play on repeat lang ang album mo sa kotse nya.
At ngayon, ibabahagi ko na ang new favorite song ko from his concert. Wag nyo nang itanong kung bakit. Basta.
"I Won't Give Up"
When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
So much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find
'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No I won't give up
I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools, the skills we've got yeah we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we didn't tend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
So easy is our life
What's mine is yours and yours mine
Hardly do we ever fight
We'd rather be kind
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get dark
I'm healing this broken heart
And I know I'm worth it
I won't give up on us
God knows I'm tough, I am love
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No I won't give up on us
God knows I've had enough
We got a lot to learn
And we're, and we're worth it
No I won't give up
