Stubborn, Stubborn Love

VERSE 1She‘ll lie and steal and cheat, and beg you from her knees.Make you thinks she means it this timeShe‘ll tear a hole in you, the one you can‘t repairBut I still love her, I don‘t really careBRIDGEWhen we were young, Oh Oh, we did enoughWhen it got cold, Ooh Ooh, we bundled upI cant be told, Ah Ah It cant be doneVERSE 2It‘s better to feel pain, than nothing at allThe opposite of love‘s indifferenceSo pay attention now, I‘m standing on your porch screaming outAnd I wont leave until you come downstairsCHORUSSo keep your head up, keep your love
Keep your head up, my loveKeep your head up, keep your loveKeep your head up, keep your loveVERSEAnd I don't blame ya dear for running like you did, all these years.I would do the same, you best believeAnd the highway signs say we‘re closed, but I don't read those things anymoreI never trusted my own eyes
BRIDGEWhen we were young oh oh, we did enoughWhen it got cold, Ooh ooh we bundled up.I can‘t be told, Ah ah, it can‘t be done.CHORUSSo keep your head up, keep your loveKeep your head up, my love x2Keep your head up, keep your loveHead up, love x4

Feeling This.

In the Blink of An Eye- The Perishers

Didn't I tell you to leave it all behind
Didn't I tell you to let it slip your mind
Didn't I tell you to let it fade away
Didn't I tell you that some day you'll be ok

Now I know love can turn to hate in the blink of an eye
Another lie another alibi
When your curtain fell heaven turned to hell
What was real I could never tell

I wish I would have known
Wish I would have seen
I wish I'd had some lines to read between
I just can't understand why you cared to stay
You never truly loved me anyway
I just can't understand

Didn't I tell you to leave it all behind
Didn't I tell you to hide all things you find
Didn't I tell you to let it slip away
Didn't I tell you to do all you can to be ok

I never thought love could turn to hate in the blink of an eye
And without you it would have passed me by
And heaven turned to hell when your curtain fell
What was real I still can't tell

I wish I would have seen wish I would have known
I wish I wouldn't have to feel alone
I just can't understand why you cared to stay
You never truly loved me anyway
I just can't understand

The Return of Kid Bibo

Guess who conceptualized the story, script and dance? I think I should be in a different career since I have been tasked to do all non-work related things in all office events. Hosting, Organizing, dancing, you name it, I've done it. In fairness, di pa ako nag effort diyan bilang naka skirt ako at nasa baba ko lang ang president ng company. Di masyadong performance level, pang kulit lang :-) Apologies for the blurry part, may fog machine and bubble machine kasi kami (EFFORT!).

The Secret's in the Telling

Dashboard Confessional
(My current favorite DC song. Too bad i missed seeing them during the Smash Project concert)

The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another

There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden

So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

Our act of defiance
We keep this secret in our blood
No paper or letters
We pass just close enough to touch
We love in secret names
We hide within our veins
The things that keep us bound to one another

There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden

Until the last resilient hope
Is frozen deep inside my bones
And this broken fate has claimed me
And my memories for its own
Your name is pounding through my veins
Can't you hear how it is sung?
And I can taste you in my mouth
Before the words escape my lungs
And I'll whisper only once...

There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we have to
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden

'Cause you will be somebody's girl
And you will keep each other warm
But tonight I am feeling cold

I Want To Headboard You, Mr. Dashboard

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL IS COMING TO TOWN! After seeing my ultimate, number 1 super crush, Chris Carrabba of DC in person last year, I have come to the realization that the stars are aligning for us to be together. I am your soulmate. For real.

Why, you ask? You write songs, I write blogs. You have thick hair, I have massive hair the size of Russia. You're a tattoo freak and I am most accepting of body arts. And yes, I adore you. Your songs are just... haaaay...

SERIOUSLY??? Your words are amazing.

Chris Carrabba, are you coming back for me? Say yes and marry me! I will give you cute and smart babies. I will forget Jensen Ackles or Ian Somerhalder. I will be your groupie for life.

The Involuntary

She stares outside her window looking at the pouring rain and counting every second that passes her by. She knows that this will only get her down, and yet, she basks under the heavy weight of reliving the past--- the past that has been her mind's playground where she can freely run with memories of him.

Her heart throbs in pain, her breathing becomes laborious, and her hands begin to tremble at the anguish of wanting to hold him, but can't.

Yet, she savors this suffering.

Because it is only the ache in her heart that can validate that what they had was real. Not now, but at some point, it had been real.

It had not been a few seasons ago when she would wake up to his smile and the gentle touch of his hand on her face, making her feel precious and loved. She would look forward to every daylight as this would bring a new moment for her to relish the comfortable feeling of him beside her. She would longingly kiss his lips and whisper a line from a song they both love, as music had been their secret code to express how they feel. His breath, her promise, the lingering embrace. She thought these would last forever.

Until one day, she woke up and it was all gone.

Gone.

Now, she only wakes up as an involuntary motion that happens to her every single day. She walks not to go anywhere but because she can no longer bear lying at that crumpled bed he used to sleep on, or bear sitting at that chair where he used to wait as she takes her time getting dressed. Everything is involuntary... sleeping, rising, crying, breathing. She was not living. She was merely existing.

She fears not of growing old alone and unwanted. She fears of growing old without him.

No. She was not unloved. She could have had a chance to be with someone. And yet, it doesn't matter to her anymore. Because what good would that be if that someone is not him?

How can she have any shot at happiness?

She can't and she won't.

Because when she gave her heart fully to him, she did not really get it back.

And now she's just an empty piece of shell.. broken and alone.

She suffers the worst kind of loneliness because the path of solitude has been paved by her own hands all along.

Now, that is voluntary.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

I'm doing better now. I told you once the weather clears up, the blues would go away. Plus the fact that I've been listening to 90's songs all afternoon. Good vibes baby.

it just made me realize na ang emo-emo ko na, ang bata ko pa lang. nyahahaha. How I could possibly relate to these songs without actually being in 'that moment', I have no idea.

Maybe I just have a good ear and taste for music--- a quality which I would require from my boyfriend. That's non negotiable. I mean, i can't imagine myself sitting inside his car and listening to R&B or hiphop. I would die. I don't expect that we'd listen to the same songs ALL the TIME. Variation is expected, as well. Our relationship should be a journey of new discoveries, if not of places, then of good music.

And with that requirement set, I would like to just say, so far, so good.:-)

by Kent

Still one of my favorite songs EVER. Reminds me of Remote Control Weekends.

...And Something else.

Silence, like a whisper
Maybe tomorrow it won't be here
So tomorrow we could teach them
Some new styles

You're such a killer
So shoot me down again
It won't hurt when the killing is done by a friend

Silence, like a whisper
So this is all we need
The fully air conditioned sound of speed
A violent whisper
And this time it's for real
So this day I made plans for us to leave

Silence, why won't you listen
Maybe it's just me
but sometimes it's impossible to breathe
A violent whisper
Maybe this time it won't heal

Maybe this time it will bleed until I'm free

we ran out of time... leave it all behind.

The Long Weekend That Was

Can we all say Awesome?

It was just the break that I needed after all the toxicity of work and other miscellaneous stuff.

Day 1: That Badass Road trip
It's good to go back to the Perks Haven, swim under the stars and just enjoy the night with people you love and who love you back. I had a particularly nice time catching up with Mamba and Tubby's parents. It brought me back a few years when we were planning out our lives, wondering where we'll be after 10 years. Career-wise, I think we're still on track, maybe even ahead of what we initially planned. But in terms of our personal lives, well, it's just a minor detail that we're currently working on. We've been meeting a lot of people, widening our circle, meeting new friends. Sooner or later, things will fall into their rightful places, and Mamba's parents will finally get the "invitation" they have been waiting for.
Ang Stopover

The 3am swim

Waiting for the Breaking of Dawn (walang kinalaman sa Twilight, pero vampire mode kami)

Ang breakfast of Champions

Ang chillax under the Tree

Ang circle of friends, with a new addition

HOHOL under the Tree

Caught on Cam, ang social butterfly. I want to believe this is a sign.

Hanggang sa muli

Day 2: The Geeks with the Geek in Pink (Now in Black)

The Perks did not have the chance to sleep all day after the very tiring Friday to Saturday gig. I had to wake up early for Cemetery #1 duty, and to prepare for our Jason Mraz concert. As I previously mentioned in my post, it was Awesoooome (think Barney Stinson's high pitch voice as I say this). Kulang na lang ay mag group hug kami sa pagkanta ng You and I Both, The Remedy at I'm Yours.
Ang favorite lines:
"God knows we're worth it... I am loved, You are loved."- I Wont Give Up
"If its a broken part, replace it. If its a broken arm, then brace it. If its a broken heart, then face it. and hold your own, know your name, go your own way.. and everything will be fine." - Details in the Fabric
"When I fall in love, I take my time. There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind... I won't worry my life away." - The Remedy

All in All, it was an intense night, a superb listening experience with a bunch of people who share the same love and passion for music as I do. Can't wait for our next concert together.

Day 3: Sleep All Day, Eat all Night
My family does not need a special occasion to throw a party. My cousin just prepared ginataang halo halo as a lure to bring us to their house and the rest of the night was just our typical gatsby usapan about nothing and everything. Of course, we took some time to do grocery shopping for the cemetery visit but after that, we had an impromptu dinner that amazingly looked as if it took a day's worth of preparation. A huge bowl of salad, chicken take out, BBQ ribs done by my cousin Lilac* and Good ole chicharon to keep us talking the entire night. This is why I love my family. Clingy lang kung Clingy.

Day 4: Camp out at the Cemetery
With just barely an hour's sleep, I had to wake up at dawn to go to Cemetery #2. Contrary to my initial thought that I would be dozing off the entire stay, I actually didn't sleep a wink when I got there. Maybe it was because I brought Atlas Shrugged that kept me awake or maybe it was because of the intense sun beating at my skin as early as 6:30. Or maybe it was my actual longing to be with the company of Mama. This year is actually the 10th death anniversary of my twin brothers, my Lolo and my Mom's 25 Death Anniversary. I felt guilty that I wasn't able to visit her last May on the actual anniversary date because I was at Paris that time, but I never forgot to include her in my thoughts and prayers.

Whenever I talked to her in front of her grave, it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. She's my angel. I prayed for her guidance and for longer years with Pops, especially now that he's going through a tough time with his illness. I pray that I would still have more years to spend with him. I really want him to see me get married, to walk me down the aisle, to see my kids grow up and be a doting grandfather as I know he would be.

It's really been a tough year for me. Sometimes, I wish that I have somebody permanent to give me strength to get me through some days. My ex could call me anything he likes, but I want to believe that I had been there for him when he needed me most, when he was at his weakest, that is, when his dad fell ill. I had genuinely cared for his dad, and I know he meant a lot to him so I gave him strength during those difficult times, even when I had none to give anymore because we were also going through a challenging time during our relationship. He wasn't over my past so I tried to assure him that he had nothing to worry about. He had too much on his shoulders then, and with my love for him, I helped him carry them so our relationship can progress. I wish I had that somebody right now, a pillar of strength and source of optimism as I had been for him. But God has a different plan for me. I think He wanted me to find my own capabilities and if I feel my strength fraying thin, He would show me His love through the kindness and compassion of others; my family, my friends, my angel.

This weekend had proven not only to be a healing moment for my body but for my spirit,as well. It invigorated me to work harder towards my goals, be thankful for the blessings God continues to shower me with, and love the life I have.

AS we draw closer to the end of the year, the Lord is giving me more and more reasons to believe that 2012 is going to be my year. And I cannot Wait.

A Halloween Serenade with Mr. A-Z

May chill factor talaga ang concert ni Jason Mraz.

I'm so fortunate to attend Mr.A-Z's acoustic concert at the Araneta Coliseum last night. I knew from his previous acoustic album that his songs become more awesome if played sans the full band. I was right.

I didnt really get the Al Qaeda beard he's got going but it grew on me after watching him perform live. He's born to be a hippie---- the barefoot, soulful, tree-hugging hippie.

Mas lalong naging deadly ang combination ni Papa Jason: Insane Guitar Skills- Souful and Impeccable voice- Gyrating/ Silly dance talent, and now, the Kindred Artist vibe. Wala na.

So anyway, in the attempt na mag standout just in case may pagkuha ng audience papunta ng stage moment, nag Fire engine red top ako and red lipstick bilang agaw atensyon lang talaga. Yun nga lang, masyadong malayo ang upuan namin para makita nya ako . UNLESS Meant to be talaga kami. Whatchuthink? huh? Huh?

Maybe due to the popularity of the song I'm Yours, Jason Mraz was able to fill the entire Coliseum (except the portion behind the stage). For an acoustic concert featuring Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera alone, That is considered a huge success by any standard. I just hated the organizers and the venue for not ensuring a better sound system. We barely understood what Jason was saying.

JASON MRAZ, i think may something tayo. You like walking barefoot, I almost walked barefoot (dahil sa heels ko kahapon), you have an intense beard, I have facial hair with the same intensity. We should get married. I don't think my dad will object bilang naka play on repeat lang ang album mo sa kotse nya.

At ngayon, ibabahagi ko na ang new favorite song ko from his concert. Wag nyo nang itanong kung bakit. Basta.

"I Won't Give Up"

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
So much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools, the skills we've got yeah we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we didn't tend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

So easy is our life
What's mine is yours and yours mine
Hardly do we ever fight
We'd rather be kind

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get dark
I'm healing this broken heart
And I know I'm worth it

I won't give up on us
God knows I'm tough, I am love
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it

No I won't give up on us
God knows I've had enough
We got a lot to learn
And we're, and we're worth it

No I won't give up

_____ Song

by Vienna Teng

strange how you know inside me
I measure the time and I stand amazed
strange how I know inside you
my hand is outstretched toward the damp of the haze

and of course I forgive
I've seen how you live
like a phoenix you rise from the ashes
you pick up the pieces
and the ghosts in the attic
they never quite leave
and of course I forgive
you've seen how I live
I've got darkness and fears to appease
my voices and analogies
ambitions like ribbons
worn bright on my sleeve

strange how we know each other

strange how I fit into you
there's a distance erased with the greatest of ease
strange how you fit into me
a gentle warmth filling the deepest of needs

and with each passing day
the stories we say
draw us tighter into our addiction
confirm our conviction
that some kind of miracle
passed on our heads
and how I am sure
like never before
of my reasons for defying reason
embracing the seasons
we dance through the colors
both followed and led

strange how we fit each other

strange how certain the journey
time unfolds the petals for our eyes to see
strange how this journey's hurting
in ways we accept as part of fate's decree

so we just hold on fast
acknowledge the past
as lessons exquisitely crafted
painstakingly drafted
to carve us as instruments
that play the music of life
for we don't realize
our faith in the prize
unless it's been somehow elusive
how swiftly we choose it
the sacred simplicity
of you at my side

I wish I had dedicated this song to you when I had the chance. But it's too late now.

I just wanted you to know that this was how you used to make me feel.

Used to.

Nothing Without You

By Vienna Teng

it's the quiet night that breaks me
I cannot stand the sight of this familiar place
it's the quiet night that breaks me
like a dozen papercuts that only I can trace
all my books are lying useless now
all my maps will only show me how to lose my way

oh, call my name - you know my name
and, in that sound, everything will change
tell me it won't always be this hard
I am nothing without you
but I don't know who you are

it's the crowded room that breaks me:
everybody looks so luminous and strangely young
it's the crowded room that's never heard
no one here can say a word of my native tongue
I can't be among them anymore
I fold myself away before it burns me numb

oh, call my name - you know my name
and, in your love, everything will change
tell me it won't always be this hard
I am nothing without you
but I don't know who you are

This song is perfect for me right now.

Indak by Up Dharma Down

(this sounds so much better when performed live)

Tatakbo at gagalaw

Mag-iisip kung dapat bang bumitaw

Kulang na lang, atakihin

Ang pag-hinga’y nabibitin

Ang dahilan na alam mo na

Kahit ano pang sabihin nila

Pipikit na lamang at mag-sasayaw

Habang nanonood siya…

Paalis at pabalik

May baong yakap at suklian ng halik

Mag-papaalam at mag-sisisi

Kaboom.

*SheSingsMySongs*

Gonna Get Over You
Sara Bareilles

Goodbye
Should be sayin' that to you by now, shouldn't I?
Layin' down the law that I live by,
Though maybe next time

I've got a thick tongue,
Brimming with the words that go unsung
Simmer then I burn for someone,
A wrong one

And I tell myself to let the story end,
My heart will rest in someone else's hand
My 'why not me?' philosophy began
And I say

Ooh, how'm I gonna get over you?
I'll be alright, just not tonight
Someday, oh I wish you'd want me to stay
I'll be alright, just not tonight,
Someday

Maybe is a vicious little word that can slay me
Keep me when I'm hurting and make me,
Hang from your hands

Well, no more,
I won't beg to buy a shot at your back door
If I make it at the thought of you, what for?
It's not me anymore

And I'm not the girl that I intend to be,
I dare you darling, just you wait and see
But this time not for you but just for me,
And I say

Ooh, how'm I gonna get over you?
I'll be alright, just not tonight
Someday, oh I wish you'd want me to stay
I'll be alright, just not tonight, Someday (someday)

say it's coming soon,
Someday without you,
All I can do is get me past the ghost of you,
Wave goodbye to me,
won't say I'm sorry,
I'll be alright once I find the other side of someday

Ooh, how'm I gonna get over you?
I'll be alright, just not tonight
Someday, oh I wish you'd want me to stay
I'll be alright, just not tonight,
Someday.

In Repair

By John Mayer

Too many shadows in my room

Too many hours in this midnight

Too many corners in my mind

So much to do to set my heart right

Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready

Oh but if i take my heart's advice

I should assume it's still unsteady

I am in repair, i am in repair

Stood on the corner for a while

To wait for the wind to blow down on me

Hoping it takes with it my old ways

And brings some brand new look upon me

Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready

Oh but if i take my heart's advice

I should assume it's still unsteady

I am in repair, i am in repair

And now I’m walking in a park

All of the birds they dance below me

Maybe when things turn green again

It will be good to say you know me

Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready

Oh but if i take my heart's advice

I should assume it's still unready

Oh I’m never really ready, I’m never really ready

I’m in repair, I’m not together but I’m getting there
