My top 07 Christmas Gift for '07

In all honesty (and not because im trying to be polite), I loooooooove all the gifts I received this year. As a matter of fact, it's actually this year that I got the most number of gifts (since I started working). Must come with the position. haha. but if I had to list them down, here's my top picks:

7. an laptop bag (i-bag, its called) from one of my clients
6. Starbucks tumbler and personalized notebook from my office friend, cecille and lip gloss from the face shop (2) from our AVP and my friend, hazel
5. Conti's Apple crumble pie from my boyfriend's family (so sweet of them ;-))
4. pearl bracelet from Sir Mike, my uber funny and nice sales manager
3. Estee Lauder eye shadow palette, eye pencil and lip liner from my tita Cyn
2. Chanel Chance perfume (sossssy!) from one of my agents
1. two pairs of extra comfy pj's from my baby pumpkin ;-) shempre, sweetness

Thank you thank you to all who remembered me... its been an awesome holiday so much more now that i feel complete in the company of my family, friends and of course, the love of my life.

Im hoping that next year will be great as well. Cheers to everyone! :-)

A Walk to the Stars

he Perksquad strikes again, and this time, we took Tomas Morato by storm with our classic butchering of impossibly high songs like Alone by Heart, Bon and Paul's almost-the-real-thing rendition of Backstreet Boy's As Long as You Love Me, Sam-AM-Eunice-Japhet's blurred and slurred take on Spice Girl's Wannabe and our Nora Aunor/ nasal version of our all time favorite Total Eclipse of the Heart.

I looove the Videoke place. Its so Boogie Nights that I suddenly had the urge to wear skates a la Heather Graham. And since I am only accustomed to the Videoke el Cheapo with its tattered song books, It was quite a challenge for me to get used to the hi-tech way of choosing songs. At kamustahin mo, I was so convinced that the tv was touch screen that I had to literally touch the screen to prove myself wrong(to the sheer amusement of the Perks).

That night was fun! Sayang, Atoy and Abby werent able to come.* They did not get to see Eunice in a simple collared manly shirt and Japhet in a blouse! haha. At si eunice, may attempt pag magpalit ng damit into a ta-daaaa! Another collared manly shirt! Si japhet, well, i thought magpapalit rin sha at tatangalin ang kanyang girly (blouse) shirt at magpapalit into... racerback! hahaha.Mga crossdressers! Classic talaga. You must understand my amusement for Eunice's attempt to dress down. This rarely happens, especially when we go out. The last time i saw her in a simple shirt and (ahem) baggy pants was in 1st year college when we went to Tagaytay for an org event, I think.

aaaargh! We should do this more often. But just like what everybody knows, its hard to find one common schedule for 8 people, especially when one is burning her eyebrows in Law school.

See you next year, Eunice! hehehe. Next time, mag jeep na tayo ha? Bawal nang lakarin ang kahabaan ng Tomas Morato.

*don't worry abby, you'll have to pay some damage fee din naman so, parang andun ka na rin. hehe.

The (really) Long Weekend

I am struggling to bring back my writing skills. Its not the lack of things to write about but the lack of energy that's sapping all my creative juices dry. Plus, I have lost all my reasons to whine and everyone knows I'm great at whining.
*****
Considering the long weekend, notice that there's not much update in my blog. I am soooooooooo bored and everything that I do seems like a routine to me. Here are the things that are me keeping me occupied (and sane) this weekend:

reading Milan Kundera's Unbeable Lightness of Being

listening to Macy Gray's Best of album (All songs are great. Still, I try, Why Didnt You Call Me, When I See You, and yes, Sexual Revolution-awesome, awesome, awesome song)

watching Psych, The Simpsons (season 9), The OC (season 3), my favorite Supernatural episodes (Bloody Mary, Asylum, Provenance), House (again)

Listening to Frou Frou/ Imogen Heap- check out her songs Only Got One, Let Go (favorite!), Its Good to Be in Love. She's got an excellent voice that keeps one in a state of trance

Watching National Geographic- my favorite series is Hunted Hunter and I Didnt Know That
*****
Long Weekends are a tragedy for people trying to slim down. Dont... eat...those... cookies... and doughnuts... aaargh! Its so hard.

Cant wait to get back to work... or not.

and These are a Few of my Favorite things... (Part 2)

I don't know where part one is. But I'm sure that i wrote something some time ago.

Before I let my mind wander again, lemme list down a few things that are getting my usual perky self a lot perkier.

1. National Geographic
I knew that there's a geekoid inside me. Thanks to a boring weekend and a DVD player that needs repair, I came across a program featuring the possible life in Mars. Amazing how dedicated NASA is about this thing. Makes me want to be an Astronaut (macey! di ba gusto mo rin to?)

2. Tsokolate ah Batirol
Im going ga-ga over this sweetie! Erik and I, during our hunt for an affordable restaurant that will suit our malnourished wallets, came to have a light snack at Tsoko.nut at SM Makati. Their tsokolate is uber delicious! I vow never to settle for anything less that that thick and succulent concoction.

regular- 69 pesos
large- 79 pesos

3. Mang Jose's Gotohan
Again, our insatiable appetites brought Erik and I at the SM supermarket to look for meals less than P100 pesos. Ta-daaa! Mang Jose came to the rescue. Try their Goto Busog for 28 pesos (enough for the both of us) and our favorite Tokwa tokwa (its actually tokwa't baboy but we requested them to just give us tofu, hence tokwa tokwa) for only 26 pesos. Drown them down with their Gulaman and you're good to go.

4. Grilled Tomato
Aaah... I must say, our favorite Friday gimmick place. Located at 100 Scout de Guia St. in Tomas Morato, this resto serves the best grilled tomato I have ever tasted. No kidding. My personal favorite is their Keema which is served with rice with something. I dint know what that is but it surely tastes good. If you like spicy food, you will definitely enjoy this. My tongue's not very accustomed to hot food, which is advantageous for Erik because he is like a freak for spicy food. Thus, when my tongue starts to sizzle, he would willingly take the heat for me. I also love their pita (reminds me of OZ Cafe in UP) and their curry sauce. I'll try their youghurt shake next. I heard its good. Landmark: its the street between Aruba and Cheesecake Etc. and Reyes Barbecue. Try it, try it, try it.

I really should stop thinking about food.

I'm stopping now.

A Wedding and a Funeral

Sad news. My bestfriend's dad died last Friday.

I love you Olga. May your dad's soul rest in peace.

The Bomb

Although I am missing 'the bomb',my favorite side dish at Tender Bob Express, I'm talking about the recent tragic event that happened a few blocks away from our office (kinda a lot of blocks away, actually).

Im sure that many people working in Makati would consider this as an almost death experience. Take my officemate for example. She was supposed to have lunch at Glorietta but my other officemate ordered food for the whole department to celebrate her birthday, thus, preventing my other officemate from leaving the office. Also, my boyfriend was telling me that his friend suggested to eat at Burger King in Glorietta, but since Andy and Pogs have already ordered, they opted to stay and eat at Reyes Barbeque (Greenbelt 1). I, for one, consider this an almost but not quite death experience. I could say that I was supposed to have my eyebrows trimmed at Bench Fix salon, just a few escalator rides from the place of the incident, but I was planning to do it after office. Aaaaaaah, shempre, pasok pa din. hehe. Buti na lang, I had the chutzpah to don the Brooke Shields brows (less fashionable, more bakulaw- like kilay). Shempre, after this, I might avoid the malls for another week, therefore, please dont give me that is-that-a-taong gubat look. I have my reason, and its valid!

After the initial hour of hearing about it in the news and seeing the pictures in the email, I was successful in putting the tragedy behind and starting to focus on the work at hand. But the tension builds again when Erik and I walked our way to the MRT. We entered the almost empty Landmark with the sales ladies outnumbering the customers and it was only 7:30 pm on a Friday night. Because of the bombing, all connecting routes to Glorietta were closed. We had to walk around it to get to the MRT. Shempre, we saw a lot of Usi's and media people. I actually overheard one lady asking, "anong meron? Shooting?"

Aaaaaah, san ka galing, ate? Pluto? Whatthe hell do you think? Its a freaking bombing, stupid!

Seriously, Its just sad that this thing has to happen since its shaking us a good deal, hitting closer and closer to home. I was bothered when the Oakwood Mutiny happened. Now, I'm rattled and disturbed that even a place as common as a mall gets targeted by terrorists or conspiracy groups. One can never feel safe anymore.

My prayer goes out to the victims of the Ayala Mall bombing who do not deserve such a violent death. Its hard to take in the grief of someone dying of a freak accident, its so much harder if its just a diversionary tactic gone wrong or an opposition's screwed up effort of rousing fury amongst the Filipino people. Its hardest if its just some whackos wanting to grab some attention.

Whoever did this, may the pangs of guilt and the howls of the anguished never let you sleep.

Amen.

Someone Like You

Van Morrison/ Shawn Colvin

I've been searching a long time
For someone exactly like you
I've been travelling all around the world
Waiting for you to come through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.

I've been travellin' a hard road
Lookin' for someone exactly like you
I've been carryin' my heavy load
Waiting for the light to come
Shining through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.

I've been doin' some soul searching
To find out where you're at
I've been up and down the highway
In all kinds of foreign lands
Someone like you... etc.

I've been all around the world
Marching to the beat of a different
Drum.
But just lately I have
Realised
The best is yet to come.
Someone like you...

My LSS

Regina Spektor's songs are just nagging to stay in your head. Fidelity, with its Hahahaha-heart part, is a song that is on repeat mode when I hear it.

I like her songs. Its avant- garde. and my dad likes it too.

My dad's the coolest.

Lazy Songs for Lazy Days

I'm loving Leona Naess right now. Just the right songs for the lazy weekend.

Lazy Days

by Leona Naess

Why can't you be with me
Watching American TV
We'll order in chinese
And ask the world to stay away, please

These hotels grow so stale
Telling the same ass-tale
By the time I get to you
I'll be too tired to...

Chourus:
Soak up some lazy days
No one can rain on our parade
Standing here beneath the shade
Of our love

Let's slide down the avenue
Like good New Yorkers do
Maybe then I'll believe
When you give, man, you receive

Chourus

Wide-eyed and stupid
I'm waiting for the arrows of cupid
Wide-eyed and stupid
I'm waiting for the arrows of cupid
Wide-eyed and stupid
I'm waiting for the arrows
of your love

Sinong Hostess?

Much Ado about the UAAP

I was kidnapped by the aliens when the UAAP Cheering competition happened.

Until now,I still have no idea how and why I failed to watch the most anticipated event by all UP students which shows that we could excel in sports (of some sort).

Thanks to the power of the internet, I got to see the event via youtube. UP Pep was amazing! It made me want to kick myself for not watching it live.

Anyway, since there was clearly no violent reaction from my side (since we are all full blooded iskolar ng bayan),I didnt know there was much dispute about our win until I read Tubby's blog. To the 5 ___students who posted that blog, hwahaha... How much gay-er can you actually get?

FEU's performance was great, just like last year. I think they deserve the 1st runner up position instead of UST (although they have almost the same routine as UST's, FEU's execution was flawless).

Here are my reasons why UP Pep deserves the win:

1. We are risk takers
- we do NOT play it safe. Every year, we try to create stunts that one has not yet seen before.
Even if the stunt is impossible to perfect. Remember the skipping rope routine? Who would have thought of that? NO ONE but UP. That was extremely hard, but they still gambled on that idea just because they think it is groundbreaking and brilliant--- and it is.

We never compromise, we never take the easy road.

2. We are original
- Others just recycle our old stunts and just make bawi on the execution. If you are an avid fan of UAAP Cheerdance, you will notice that their routines are just rehashed version of our old routines, with some very slight modifications. Ika nga ni Melanie Marquez, been there, been that.

- and yes, our choices of songs, costumes and themes are always unexpected. Dont you just hate it when Other Schools incorporate themes that are already gasgas? God, even with eyes closed I know that someone will use the Transformer theme, or the Spiderman theme... Just because its already a hit. They are sooooo easy.

- as for UP, totally original! I love the rock theme, especially when they used songs from Wolfgang. Nobody saw that coming.

3. We are a trendsetter
- we pioneered the jazz pants which as you can see, almost all schools are wearing. We introduced the side linings that are used to create the illusion of fluid motions and now, everybody is wearing that. Now, we opt to do the pedal pusher, backless with kinky ribbons in front. Lemme see, shall I wait a couple of years before it gets pirated? I dont think so. Its too forward for them to wear. Only UP has the guts and the panache to wear them. Ha!

I have great respects for other schools, especially FEU (they're great dancers). But only UP deserves this year's crown. Its our TIME--- wait for yours.

"Matatapang, Matatalino, Walang Takot, Kahit Kanino.
Hinding Hindi, Magpapahuli, Ganyan Kaming Mga taga UP"

(they should make this a proxy alma mater song. Every UP student knows it, unlike UP Naming Mahal. Just a thought)

From Cruise to Snooze

I could have in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, watching the sunset and hearing the laughter and nonsensical chatters of people in different languages aboard a fabulous cruise ship. Ten minutes after, I’m off serving food to these foreign people or watching their foreheads sweat while I deal a new hand in poker. Yes, I could have been the head of the food and beverage department or a poker dealer sailing away for two months in a ship and seeing all the continents (is that possible?). Not as professional as I dreamt to be but high paying and exciting, nonetheless.

Instead, I am stuck in the corporate world, kissing the asses of the 3000 clients, making them happy as possible.

How in the world can a UP Graduate with Business Economics degree get a job offer as a food server and a casino dealer? Well, it’s called business connections.

Way, way back when I was just a member of the accounts management team and quota was just a cuss word I hear from the sales department, I used to handle calls from this HR guy who really liked my voice. He used to email me good morning messages, make bola on the phone, ask if I ate merienda already and its so funny because he’s someone you really wouldn’t take seriously. Having piqued my interest, I started snooping around through friendster (whose account I couldn’t find) and via our messenger Paul the Choker Boy.

Here’s the funny thing. I asked Paul the Choker Boy if he already saw this HR guy and said yes, and said he’s actually good looking. Tall, even (though I sure wouldn’t believe him considering he’s pixie sized and everyone else is already a giant to him). He said this HR guy was also asking how I looked, and he said “okay lang.

OKAY LANG??? Dude, where’s your loyalty? I only say ‘okay lang’ on some very few occasions I don’t want to sound mean. I’m no great beauty but you could have told him “okay naman” which conveys a totally different message. But no…

Anyway, that’s over. Hehe. He just recently touch based with me again, now at a different company (the ship company) asking if I was interested to apply in a cruise ship. Again, in some very few occasions when I am happy with my job, I told him thanks but no thanks.

…and that’s how it ended, my almost future employment as a food server and casino dealer.

Nyanyanyanyanya….

DON'T PANIC

Surreal.

I guess you never realize how fast time flies until something major happens that makes you remember that you’re not a kid anymore. I’ve been working for more than 2 years but that isn’t enough to slap me back to reality that some things are changing, not even me having a relationship. I just don’t feel old, though I look old-er because of stress. I guess that’s because I still make a good Cherie Gil impression, I still love to laugh at silly things, I still watch Wowowee on weekends and drop corny jokes all the time. Admittedly, I am still not as refined as I imagined myself to be at 23. I am still galawgaw, kontrabida, addicted to the same things as before, naïve and child-like. No, that’s not bad. Not at all.

While I am stuck in a time-frozen capsule (including Perksquad), everyone else seems to be moving in sound-like speed. High school classmates getting pregnant and having children, acquaintances settling abroad, College crushes passing away due to a car accident, an orgmate being subpoena-ed due to frat-related scandal, and now, my bestfriend finally getting hitched. Wow, I feel like I’m a 12-old kid lost in the world of the grownups.

I should be thankful, of course. I bet most people my age would like to have a plain normal life like what I have. I can say that I can’t complain, though it doesn’t hurt to have more money than I have now. But that is achievable, I think. It’s just that its so…. Surreal.

I can’t speak for those people who have gone on to the next stage of life because I don’t know their reasons for being there. Maybe its God’s plans for them, maybe it’s by choice, maybe it’s an accident. Nevertheless, I wish them all luck.

I, on the other hand, am taking it one day at a time. Working hard, playing hard, having fun and learning life. It’s not bad to have plans, you know, to take your sweet time while planning the future. Although the events in between are fuzzy like I plan it to be, the general plan is to get promoted to senior management at 26, travel a lot, learn a new language before I get married at the age of 28, retire at the age of 30 and hopefully set up a business of my own but still be a hands-on mother of three… and I plan to wake up each day with the love of my life until the grey age of 75. Great, isn’t it?

So don’t panic if you’re 27 and you’ve never been in a relationship. Life is only as short as you want it to be.

Just a Day, Just an Ordinary Day

Well, lemme just make kwento about how I spent my bur-day.

First, I was bullied by the BFFs to bring some food to the office a day before my birthday. They said that we are going to have a private party sans the cord and passes. I had to shush them everytime they talked about it lest the entire office barge in our department with plates and tupperware. As much I want to make a pakain, my birthday falls between sweldo, aka poverty days.

Thanks to my ever supportive parents, I was able to fill many stomachs that day with our super famous binagoongan (my dad's specialty) and Mommy's mechado. My parents were instant celebrity and if we were to open a restaurant, Im sure my officemates will be the first ones in line. Seeing them all happy and made my awkward commute worth it (yes, I had to bring it to the office as a public commuter).

Come Saturday, my real birthday, my parents were too tired to cook another feast for my family. Therefore, we had to order food to feed them all. In fairness, my mommy was cool enough to pay for all my gastos (payable when able), including the 18-inch chicken corona salsa we bought from Yellow Cab. Just to add a personal touch to the party, I cooked pasta (spaghetti and meatballs and the other one, oil and garlic with hungarian sausage).

Since I cant go out that day, I had to offer my house in lieu of the initial Rockwell gimmick Flamethrower was organizing. The Perks minus Tubby (who was attending a soro party somewhere near our area) barged their way into our house, without a gift nor the spirit. haha. So like them. Flamethrower, who came late due to a roadtrip with one of her boys, offered to pay for our beer. Yay!

WIth a microphone in one hand and a Red Horse on the other, my birthday was super fun. Too bad Tubby wasnt there to celebrate with us. Fret not, sis, there's still my 24th.

In the Sun

Joseph Arthur (and other covers)

* this song kills me*

picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong
And falling down on your knees asking for sympathy
And being caught in between all you wish for and all you seen
And trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in

May God's love be with you
Always
May God's love be with you

I know i would apologize if i could see your eyes
'Cause when you showed me myself i became someone else
But i was caught in between all you wish for and all you need
I picture you fast asleep
A nightmare comes
You can't keep awake

May God's love be with you
Always
May God's love be with you

'Cause if i find
If i find my own way
How much will i find
If i find
If i find my own way
How much will i find
You

I don't know anymore
What it's for
I'm not even sure
If there is anyone who is in the sun
Will you help me to understand
'Cause i been caught in between all I wish for and all I need
Maybe you're not even sure what it's for
Any more than me

May God's love be with you
Always
May God's love be with you

Re-living the Ring

I spent the weekend watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Can i just say, its the most amazing trilogy ever! Watching it the second time does not keep me from crying when I see the battle scene, especially in Two Towers, when they were getting ready for the great battle with the hundred thousand Orcs at Helms Deep. Since they were short of manpower, they were getting men who have seen "too many winters" and "too few". (reminds me of our present wage against war that calls for the bringing back of ROTC, just in case we would need additional men).

... and when the Elves joined the battle with Men.... ooooooh, those clean looking blonde men! Yummy?

... and the rise of the Ents! wheeeeeeeee.. Wood, water and fire!

You want to watch it again, dont you?

Love my Pumpkin

*sigh*

The Uneventful 23

I dont like the number 3. There's nothing momentous, inspiring, famous about the number 3 (except 23, Michael Jordan's number). Its always kulelat (3rd place--- lagging behind 1st and 2nd), a major loser ((3's a crowd, 3's company, 3rd wheel) and you can rarely hear about a song this number. Compared to the numbers ending in 1 (almost every song speaks about being the "one"), 2 (the strong competitor, the "other" number/ person as in could you be my number 2, baaaaad, i know, but it has attitude) 4 (as in 24, the series and Switchfoot's song), 5 (as in 25 my birthday and Christmas), 6 (as in the devil's number, and a kinky number if you happen to mispronounce it), 7 (as in 7th heaven and the lucky number), 8 (inifinity, a neverending number, and a lucky number for Chinese), 9 (although this is second loser number) and 0 ( every model wants to be a size 0, or that number which has no end).

Now that I turned 23, I am not really sure if an entire year would mean anything. More than the usual harassed state I am in, I hope that something good and big will happen.Aaaaaargh, cant wait to be 24 or rewind back to 20.

Such Great Heights

By Iron and Wine (Garden State OST)

I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images and
When we kiss they're perfectly aligned

And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes like puzzles pieces
From the clay

True, it may seem like a stretch
But it's thoughts like this
That catch my troubled head
When you're away, when I am missing you to death

When you were out there on the road
For several weeks of shows
And when you scan the radio
I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay

I've tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat
Sounded thin upon listening

That frankly will not fly
You will hear the shrillest highs
And lowest lows with the windows down
When this is guiding you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll say...

Let Go

By Frou Frou (Garden State OST)

Drink up baby down
Are you in or are you out?
Leave your things behind
'Cause it's all going off without you
Excuse me too busy you're writing a tragedy
These mess-ups
You bubble-wrap
When you've no idea what you're like

So, let go
Jump in
Oh well, what you waiting for?
It's all right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So, let go
Just get in
Oh, it's so amazing here
It's all right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown

It gains the more it gives
And then advances with the form
So, honey, back for more
Can't you see that all the stuff's essential?
Such boundless pleasure
We've no time for later
Now you can wait
You roll your eyes
We've twenty seconds to comply

So, let go
Jump in
Oh well, what you waiting for?
It's al right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So, let go
Just get in
Oh, it's so amazing here
It's all right
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown

I Just Dont Think I'll Ever Get Over You

by Colin Hay (Garden State OST)

I drink good coffee every morning
Comes from a place that's far away
And when I'm done I feel like talking
Without you here there is less to say
I don't want you thinking I'm unhappy
What is closer to the truth
That if I lived till I was 102
I just don't think I'll ever get over you
I'm no longer moved to drink strong whisky
'Cause I shook the hand of time and I knew
That if I lived till I could no longer climb my stairs
I just don't think I'll ever get over you
Your face it dances and it haunts me
Your laughter's still ringing in my ears
I still find pieces of your presence here
Even after all these years
But I don't want you thinking I don't get asked to dinner
'Cause I'm here to say that I sometimes do
Even though I may soon feel the touch of love
I just don't think I'll ever get over you
If I lived till I was 102
I just don't think I'll ever get over you

In the Waiting Line

by Zero 7 (Garden State Soundtrack)

Wait in line
'Till your time
Ticking clock
Everyone stop

Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me

Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you see
There doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me

Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see

Nine to five
Living lies
Everyday
Stealing time
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can

Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you feel
It doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me

Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see

Ah and I'll shout and I'll scream
But I'd rather not have seen
And I'll hide away for another day

Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time

Do you believe
In what you see

Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me

The Big Reveal

Yes, I am in deep rage.. and my eyes are scouting for a glass of drink to get cross-eyed drunk.

I just ate three slices of roasted garlic and shrimp pizza and a plateful of charlie chan. This is how I tend to make myself happy these days-- by stuffing myself til my stomach bursts open.

Its crazy thinking that two days ago, I was just telling my recently-hitched boss that things couldnt get any better. Ha! Expect me to make the most stupid mistakes around Very Important People.

Im back in my old state ten months ago. I am close to believing that I am cursed. Not even reaching one year? feck. Im soooo pathetic.

Whatthefuck does he mean by "accepting his hangups?"

*just a question*

Office Blurbs

Guess where I am, writing this post?

I am at the office, using company property (but not company time), while I wait til my sweetie hunny pie leaves the office at 7:30pm (he's sked is flexi).

Funny story. I am currently wearing my black knit long sleeved blouse and plaid skirt. Yes. A skirt, on a Friday, when it's freedom day to wear my almost comfy slacks in lieu of my usual oversized uniform. But today, I wore a skirt.

Why, oh why, did I brazenly expose my pamalo ni barok legs? Because I had an 8 am meeting with the company president, together with my teammates. Shempre, what are the chances that three buses will collide in Magallanes, causing a traffic that reaches the far north, also known as the Beautiful QC? I left at around 6:20 and got a shuttle at around 6:30. Greatness of all greatness, I reached the office at 8:34 am. Good thing that I only hyperventilated for 45 minutes instead of the full 2 hours because I was sound asleep during the ride to the office. What brought me back to the real world, i.e. the traffic and the fact that I was so freaking late, was when my head fell on the shoulders of the girl sitting right beside me. I know, I know. I am the worst person to be a seatmate. At least I dont drool.

Anyhoo, I said sorry to the girl (who i just remembered as my school busmate in highschool) and she was so pissed. I thought she was pissed at me, which made me helluva guilty. And then she started sobbing and saying, "this is sooo frustrating".

Galing, it made me feel like Im a type B person all of a sudden. Meron rin palang mas grabeng worrier apart from me. Haller? She was really crying because of the traffic. Haha. Maybe she just missed her job interview. Poor girl.

*** I do not know how to end this***

I am soooo looking forward to the weekend. Yipeee!

Built to Last

by Melee

(gotta post the lyrics of this song!)

Ive looked for love in stranger places
but never found someone like you
someone whose smile
makes me feel like ive been holding back
and now there's nothing I can do

Cause this is real, this is good
ir warms the inside just like it should
but most of all, most of all
its built to last

all of our friends
saw from the start
so why didnt we believe it too?
now look, where we are
you're in my heart now
and there's no escaping it for you

cause this is real, this is good
it warms the inside just like it should
but most of all, most of all,
its built to last

walking on the hills at night
with those fireworks and candlelight
you and I were made to get love right

cause this is real, this is good
it warms the inside just like it should
but most of all, most of all,
its built to last

cause you are the sun in my universe
consider the best when we felt the worst
and most of all, most of all,
most of all, most of all,
most of all, most of all,

its built to last...

Fight Club

I just got back from a 2 1/2 hour catfight/ confrontation with two of my officemates formerly known as my friends (friend lang pala because the other one, i never considered as a friend). Can I just say that its one of the most futile and exhausting episodes of my life. Maybe I just got used to my friends' style of resolving an issue. We exchange opinions, we get pikon, we get even, and we'd laugh afterwards. No issue ever reached that kind of boiling point like this one did.

I guess because the perks never had any major issues like two timing, stealing boyfriends, being the other woman/ man, etc. In the first place, I dont think any of my friends would engage in something that would step on the rights and happiness of other people.

Imagine having to bear those excruciating voice raising and finger pointing and not show any facial expression on how stupid it all seemed. Well, I couldnt stay neutral. Knowing my pang asar face and my "whatever" tone, I got the brunt of the outburst. hehe. What can I do? I cannot stay poker faced when she displays appalling behavior towards my friend.

Learnings:
Dont chew your gum violently. It doesnt only make you look like you're ready to bitchslap me, but it also conveys the idea that you have experience in more 'street' kind level of combatting.

Dont threaten to straighten a curly hair as a means of showing how angry you are. Kulots are very particular about their hair. In short, Dont go there (sa hair), sister.

When she says dont show your face to her, it means just that. If you go and confront her, you'll just get the worst verbal beating you've ever received. and dont blame us if we say, "she told you so"

Never argue with someone who has a twisted sense of fairness. You will only waste precious oxygen expressing a point she is too stubborn to admit.

Saying "I'm sorry for the way you feel but im right" is not an apology. Never is and never will be.

Technicalities are just lies converted into cunning and semi-plausible truiths.

Currents

I would like to disprove my friend, Tetchi* that I cannot compose a single sentence when I'm happy or I'm angst free and that I only write when Im sad/ depressed. That is not true. I can also write well when im drunk. But i do admit that Im more masipag when my head's like a septic tank in need of cleaning out. That is a really, really bad analogy.

anyway, I just want to clear out my head of all the demons. Lalalala... Not working. and my playlist composed of Athlete songs is not helping.

What to do? I could drink myself to sleep but that would be pathetic. I could continue reading Khufu's Wisdom but I will again be haunted by thoughts of him and would spend 30 minutes digesting that same page. I could surf pictures of ooooh, Piolo Pascual or Jensen Ackles or Gael Garcia Bernal (is that the name of the Y Tu Mama Tambien guy?) but I fear of reading posts saying they're gay because there is no way a guy that yummy can be straight. So what is left for me to do?

I could tell you a dozen things that happened to me for the past couple of weeks.

1. We went to La Union, tried surfing, but successfully failed and embarrassed myself
2. Wore a white bikini top (my first time!) but changed/ reversed it to black because I couldnt pull off the "i could see the foam" look
3. Got stung by a dikya in the most unholy place (my armpit) causing a scar the size of Russia forcing me to live on shirts with sleeves for the rest of my life (it used to be my boxer arm that prohibits me from wearing sleeveless) Thank your lucky stars (in this case, that darn dikya) for sparing you from seeing my Spartaaaaaaans! Arms.
4. Encountered the blasted dikya face-to-face and instead of meeting its demise in the palm of my hand, I carefully removed that sotanghon like creature and flicked it back to the water
5. Got promoted which is the same as saying I volunteered to hand over my social life to the authorities/ to the hand that now feeds me
6. went to Batangas with my co workers only to miss out on the juicy episodes because I slept early
7. burnt my skin swimming excitedly like a kid and incurred tan lines which will stay on me for the next three years

So that's whats been happening to me for the past month i failed to write, that leaves me with nothing else to do but to succumb to my first option.

I am so pathetic.

You Can't Say Im Depressed just Because..

...Im drinking two glasses of Gilbey's gin to put me to sleep
... I inadvertently put toothpaste froth on my shirt(which I really really hate since it will mark my shirt white) due to my drinking
... i've been listening to Athlete's album and Switchfoot's 24 hours and On Fire
... Ive been reading all his text messages and his 6-pages love letter/ apology letter written on yellow paper
... I'm updating my blog
... I'm staying up late updating my blog
... Im bringing back my habit of crying by infesting my mind with morbid thoughts
... I am so wanting a stick of cigarette even though I quit a looong time ago

No. You cant say Im depressed.

Im just unstable.

*Sigh*

I am going crazy.

No kidding.

This is my third sleepless night. I have been bawling my eyes out since this stupid fight. Just a single text message from him would be enough to pacify me, even if it includes the phrase "do not bother me anymore". I just wanted to make sure he's safe.

You see, after my big storm off, I havent heard from him. Its killing me. I dont even know why I left him in the middle of that terminal. Maybe I wasnt thinking, maybe I was thinking I didnt want him to miss his last train home. Maybe I just cant resist the drama of walking out...or walking inside the shuttle. I'm crazy... and im sorry.

I miss him. I should have told him what I wanted him to do instead of expecting him to read between the lines or read between the imaginary lines that were not said. (okay, not making sense).

Please let him be okay and I promise that it will be our last nonsense fight. wait, I promise to try to make it our last nonsense fight.

I love you, beh. Please save me from this insanity.

Pumpkin's Song for Munchkin

Learning to Breathe
Switchfoot

Hello, good morning, how ya do?
What makes your rising sun so new?
I could use a fresh beginning too
All of my regrets are nothing new

So this is the way that I say that I need You
This is the way
This is the way

That I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl I'm finding that You and You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

Hello, good morning, how ya been?
Yesterday left my head kicked in
I never thought I could fall like that
Never knew that I could hurt this bad

I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

So this is the way that I say that I need You
This is the way
That I say I love You
This is the way
That I say I'm Yours
This is the way
This is the way

Munchin's Song for Pumpkin

Starting Today
Natalie Imbruglia

Starting today
Im not gonna waste another moment
Even if I had the chance before I would have blown it

But you took me by surprise
and you caught me just in time

Everyday, you give me reason not to walk away
I'll stop believing that the world's gone crazy
And if it is, you'll save me.

Starting today
Im not gonna worry about tomorrow
I'll wash away
All this fear that's left me feeling hollow

Cause you made me want to try
and you caught me just in time

Everyday, you give me reason not to walk away
Ive stopped believing I should run like crazy
'cause if I did, you'll chase me anyway

I should have told you so many times
But i shied away
Somehow you always seem to be there, making it easy
and you give me reason to stay, everyday

Everyday, everyday
Ive stopped believing I should run like crazy
'cause if I did, you'll chase me anyway

Everyday, you give me reason not to walk away
I'll stop believing that the world's gone crazy
And if it is, you'll save me

Starting today
Im not gonna waste another moment.

Maturity according to Mamba

Ayun. Mature na mature nga sha.

The Miracle that is Piolo

Guess who got to kiss the gorgeous sando-clad (Papa) Piolo Pascual?!?

I DID!!!

Yes....

right then and there, I was reduced to a shrieking, jologs madlang tao.. with my dignity lying limp on the posh Promenade floor.

*Mabuti at hindi ako itinakwil ng mga kapatid ko kahit ginawa ko pang tsimi-a-a ang aking younger sister sa paghawak ng Cosmo mag na kabibili ko lang (because Piolo's on the cover--- p.s. I never thought i'd see him.

In my ultimate casual perky tone, sabi ko, "ako din."

At ayun na.

History.

Mabuhay ka, Papa P.

Underwhelmed

Tell me something I don't know yet.

Show me something I havent seen before.

Make me see your vision of paradise.

Surprise me.
Shock me.
Wow me.

Are you done now?

C-R-A-Z-Y

This sucks.

... not my blog but the difficulty i encountered while 'renewing' my blogger account. It really sucks. I even forgot my password a week after, thus, I had to start the frigging process all over again.

Anyhoo, my life is as predictable as it can be. My love life is still going great, my family is happy as usual and my work is monotonous as ever. Some would say that I should be thankful living the life that I have now. As a matter of fact, I am. Its just that sometimes, I want something more.. what that 'extra' is, I have to figure out first. I guess it has something to do with my unfulfilling career. Yes, I'm getting enough to sustain my vices i.e. sleeping (which costs nothing) and eating (which costs everything). I give ample amount of money to my parents (enough to cover some bills), pay my exorbitant phone bills, and take a cab when I'm battered tired of commuting. But still, i want more.

You know what would make me happy? Going inside Kuya's house. Maybe there I would find the fulfillment and something-something I'm looking for.

Stop. Think. Ting!

On second thought, I would just make myself stupid on national television, showing my silly self, hyperventilating on the most superficial of things like not being able to listen to music, not sleeping enough, fretting about being seen shaving my legs or growing too much moustache. People would think im a loony (which I am).

I haven't eaten a proper meal the entire day, I took a leave of absence from work because I'm sick (stress related, I'm telling you) and i am maximizing my time away from office work. My hair is poofy again, my clothes dont fit me anymore. The heat is killing me.

Save me please.

The Bad Blogger is Back

Yes, I have been a bad, bad blogger.

Its not that i have less stories to tell, nor is it because all my angsts are gone. Its just that I really dont have time to post and because I have so many competitors (in using the computer) here at home.

Anyway, in a nutshell, my life is great. Not perfect, but great. I have an amazing boyfriend whom my parents have finally accepted (Big girl na ako! yedey!), I am not dirt poor (but still poor at some levels), I have a new phone to replace my damaged phone, and im not as bored at work as i initially thought. The only downside to having these good things come my way is that I am stress-free, thus, the rationale for my "happier" figure. But at some aspect that's not too bad because I am happy (and I am gloating, nyahahaha!).

So what has happened for the past couple of months? Not much really except basking in the glory of my dream relationship which has finally come true. A few days before Christmas, my pumpkin's family invited me over for dinner. At first, i felt nervous because I am not exactly Ms. Prim and Proper. But once I entered their house, his dad immediately greeted me and his mom even gave me a kiss. Have I told you already that I am included in their evening prayers? Ewik has a great and loving family and im so glad that I didn't make any booboos for the entire evening.

The sweetest thing is that they even had a huge cake baked for me to bring home to my family. and they even said, "balik ka anna ha?" and "punta ka dito palagi" so i guess they even liked me. Ewik's brother even gave me a post Christmas gift (3 bottles of cologne). So thank you, thank you to his family, Tito Chris, Tita Mely, Ate Fiel, Kuya Roland, Gracia and Andres (the cutie nephew).

Ayun, I shall stop bragging na.

My Bad

Note to self (again):

When sending a personal email using your company email, double check first the recipient of the message. You may be sharing your deepest, darkest secret* to the HR Manager of a multinational company. And yes, there is no RECALL button. And yes yes, i am using company resources.

* Good thing my message was a simple question
