I still can't believe it. After 3 sessions of practice and loads of laughter to go with it, our sportsfest presentation is over. Yes, after maneuvering my bosses and friends, all my leadership and choreography skills have proven to be a success. We won against other departments notorious for making a career out of presenting. Bakit naman hindi when I shook those 'humps' and 'lumps' without shame? We deserve to win. Never mind that we were almost disqualified and that we used the power of the upper management to let us perform despite us not following the correct sequencing of events. They should understand that Lil Ms. Foxy lives on another part of the universe, thus, cannot make it on time. The point is that we are GOOD and the judges loved us (obviously, humility is not my strongest suit). Thank God we won. I couldnt bear the scrutiny we would get if we came in last. after all my pag eepal, being last would mean losing face in my oh- so competitive department.
Isa lang ang pinapatunayan ng pagkapanalong ito. I should pursue a different industry, one that would hone my artistahin skills. ano kaya kung mag PA na lang ako? baka sakaling madiscover ang epal powers ko. :-)
p.s.
I should embrace this 15 minutes of fame since i now hold the honor of leading the marketing department to a presentation victory, A first, if i may proudly say.
WHooohoo!!! i am choking on my own chutzpah.

and the Bibo Award Goes To...
Lord, why me?
I dont really know what kind of energy im exuding that's making other people make me on top of their "Crazy" list. It seems that whenever there's a program being organized, my officemates never fail to volunteer me. This time, they supplied my name to the Senior Vice President to lead the marketing presentation for the upcoming Sportsfest. Ano ba?!? Mukha ba akong athletic? Mukha ba akong fit? nakikita nyo ba ang katawan ko?!?!
Anyway, i didnt have the chance to say no. They appointed me, dragged my name right in the middle of their meeting with our honorable SVP, who by the way, has no idea who I am. Yes, we had some run-ins in the bathroom, in my area, inside her office, but those did not elicit a closeness akin to familiarity. She isnt really my favorite person and the last thing i want is to be in her radar. But hell, there's nothing i can do about it now. Ang masasabi ko lang ay kung sino man ang nagvolunteer sa akin, PAKSYET SHA! mararanasan nya ang hagupit ng aking paghihimagsik.
Actually, kilala ko na sila. What's baffling about it is that we are not in any way close. That's why I'm sure that there's something not right about this entire episode. Hindi naman pwedeng nakikita nila ang kagalingan kong sumayaw dahil hindi naman ako sumasayaw sa office (well, actually, sometimes i do-- just to piss Ambec off). Okay, I'm loud, i'm bibo, but i didnt know i was this bibo.
Okay, i shall take this in a graceful manner. I asked the help of the CAA Mafia and we've decided we are going to dance the ballroom. Although it took a lot of charm and pouting lips to convince them to join me, the boys of Sales agreed to ballroom dance. Now if i could only choreograph a dance. Hindi, kaya ko yan. Ika nga ni Ms. Tetchi, I'm the perfect person for the job because im the nearest thing to being gay. Salamat Ms. tetchi, you just dont know what that did to my self-esteem--- it's sky rocketing.
After a thorough bull session, we changed our dance to that of a slutty, ledge dance without the pole (although the offer of our AVP to supply one was too tempting to ignore). Mas feel daw ni Boss MIke na magsayaw ng "ma hamps" by the "Pussycat Dogs" kaya sige, ibigay ang hilig.
Since we do not have much time to create a dance, we went to Karyll's house to practice. A futile attempt, although a good form of cardio. Finally, after 3 hours, we succumbed to the truth that we cant do it. After a minute thought, i rang Mamba and asked her to teach us a dance tomorrow (which didnt happen, by the way... She was busy overhauling her hair). And with that, we lay in a heap of exhaustion and sang our way to oblivion.
Tomorrow, i shall once again attempt to reincarnate Shakira, a difficult feat since she is still alive.

Everything Shall Come Back
Tapos na ang "Reunion" episode ng buhay ko and I'm over it! Whoohoo! Mature na talaga ako at balik agad ako sa pagiging isang bouncing ball of Narcissism! Oo.
hay naku, wake me up when Im back to being twenteen.

Blind
by Lifehouse
***I just have to post this song.
I was young but I wasn't naive
I watched helpless as he turned around to leave
And still I have the pain I have to carry
A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
I would fall asleep
Only in hopes of dreaming
That everything would be like it was before
But nights like this it seems are slowly fleeting
They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
After all this time
Would you ever wanna leave it
Maybe you could not believe it
That my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you will ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
And I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me dies when I let you go

The World is Out to Wreck Your Mascara
Hey, remember me
I remember you walking away
I've pictured it a thousand times in my mind. I'd see him strolling around Glorietta with Beyonce while im doing the same with my officemates. We would stop in our path, say hi and I'd embrace them with that cool efficiency like that breakup 4 years ago did not happen. We'd go our separate ways and after a few steps, I'd look back and see him looking back at me. I even picked a song that would serve as the soundtrack of that encounter--- Blind by Lifehouse.
...but all i could hear was the deafening silence amidst that noisy and busy crowd...
Yes, it finally happened. true to my dream sequence, we crossed path at Glorietta, him beside Beyonce, and I, with Karyll. I was animatedly retelling the chaos that happened in Ayala Mrt when the entrance failed to work, causing a long line and an angry stored value holders. Out of nowhere, someone called out my college name. I looked around and the first person I saw was Beyonce, who scurried away and gave me a half-hearted smile...
and then i saw him.
I didnt stop in my tracks, although i did greet him a belated happy birthday. After saying a brief thanks while fidgeting with his collar, we went our own separate ways. After taking a few steps, i caught Karyll's surprised look and I said in a faltering voice, "sha yun." I didnt do that "turn around" act because my brain automatically shut off, my heart was beating erratically, i was flushed and tears were trying to escape from my eyes.
This cannot happen. I wasnt prepared. At least he had a lead time to prepare himself for the chance meeting while I was left there, dumbstruck and grasping for words.
thank God i was dressed for the occasion, with my hair soft and straight, wearing my favorite low-cut green blouse, sexy heels and white New yorker scarf. It seemed that i was dressed for a date/ night out. If only i could have masked that flustered look from my face and had that practiced smile on, it would have been perfect.
No matter how many times I've thought about it,no matter how well i've planned, in reality, responses are always automatic. No matter how much you'd wish you'd done something in another way, you can never bring back those few precious moments when you could have proven to him that, yes, you've survived and you're a better person after it.
I dont know why after that enjoyable birthday dinner and a happy chat with friends including MTB, my cheeks are still wet and my mascara has left an ugly streak on my sullen looking face. Is it because i still feel something for him? I dont think so, it has been 4 years.
Maybe its the fact that he's with his perfect girl, a girl who could have been me, if the stars have only allowed it. Or maybe its because he's still with her, and Im still with no one. Or maybe its because in truth, he is and will always be my greatest and biggest regret.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In reality, I didnt turn around because I wasn't wearing a waterproof mascara. I didnt turn around because I cant bear to once again see him walk away.
Silence is all we have to give
And the memories of a life I wish we'd lived
I remember you walking away
That Great Cool-lege
Im still trying to sink this in.
Once again, we went to the infamous Videoke sa Tapat to celebrate Me2's despedida party (notice how many officemates have resinged? Ako na sa susunod, wishful thinking). Anyway, it feels surreal, with her leaving. I never expected us to be together til the end of time, nor do we envision ourselves ruling the company. I guess it's the thought of her leaving.
Our 11 month friendship, brief as it may be, has been full of memories. There was that Antipolo gig, that Baguio threesome ( I shared the same bed with me2 and Astroboy) of course, the Tagaytay escape which served as the straw that tied us together.
Of all my friends, she was the one who saw right through me. Not only because she's my fellow Iska, but despite being the ate in the circle (not counting Ambec), she acts just as childish as i do.
I got drunk because apart from drinking 7 bottles of beer, i didnt eat my supper. I just dont feel like eating due to the heavy lunch. It was our SVP's bday and she treated all of us for lunch. A lechon (roasted pig) the size of a 10-year old, spicy shrimp, baked tahong and my favorite pansit puti, i felt like bursting an artery after.
***
I was supposed to have an overtime today. However, i felt like a deserve a break. for four straight days, i was staying up at the office until 9pm, its quite stressful. So to further increase my EQ, i am going out again today for Jojay's birthday.
***
Again, i am feeling UP-sick. I've re-read my past blogs and i realized that i had greater writing skills then (maybe my stories were better back in college) and that there are so many things about UP that makes me want to go back. It those fishballs for lunch, stargazing at the Sunken Garden, Walking/ Jogging at the Acad Oval, the Perksquad raids in Oz cafe (still my favorite quaint cafe) where we dined on the 45- peso tuna melt for endless hours, grabbing a smoke and chatting on superfluous issues. Most of all I miss my friends, Perksquad and Ecosoc. College has really defined who I am. I would have to give Peyups the credit/ blame for my being the ultimate bibo/ standup comedienne/ shameless performer/ fast talker. It has taught me to be more... human. Despite the heartbreak, the 5 removal exams, the shrinking wallet, those four years were the best times of my life.
This Whole New Era
As usual, wala na naman akong pera. bagong bagong kwento ah. Pano ba naman, twice ako naglunch out and two weekends na rin akong gumagastos na parang wala nang bukas.
***
After forwarding the Goldilocks text jokes to my perk friends, I got replies from Queer (who replied a little later that "inulan sha ng batikos" dahil sa kakornihan... pero finorward nya pa rin dahil takot siyang maging cake) and Gorj who asked how im getting along. That's sweet considering na he should have taken me out a long time ago nung nagmomotmot pa ako sa nonexistence ng MTB- Banana affair. The morning after (as in early morning), he texted if i was free for lunch. Akala ko naman libre, kaya hindi ko sinabihan sina Flamey etc. dahil baka magtampo at ako lang ang ililibre. Yun pala, KKB, siguro nagbago ng isip nung nakitang okay na ako. hehe. Nung nalaman kong hindi pala libre ang lunch na yun, i texted Flamey to have lunch at sumama sa pagpapakitang gilas kay gorj ng aming buhok. the lunch date made me miss my friends so much that i texted all my friends to have lunch with me the following day. (actually, it was flamey's idea because she got into a fight with one of her officemates).
Kinabukasan, mamba, flamey and I went to have our lunch at RCBC since North park/ Max's were brimming with people. At syempre, kelangan kung sino ang walang pera/ nagtitipid/ nagdidiyeta, siya talaga ang may pinakamalaking gastos ano? Talagang pulubi na ako. At kamustahin mo ang karma ko? ang bilis talaga.
Scene 1: after choosing our lunch, i had the audacity to joke Flamey that she lost her food ID pass, thus, she would have to pay moolah for the lost card. Akalain mo bang ako ang makakaiwan nung food pass ko? at ang inutil na waiter, sinundan lang ako at pinanood magpanic sa may counter bago ibigay ang food pass. Nakakahiya.
Scene 2: Upon arriving at my work space, i automatically saw my boss Ms. DT and her wet blouse. I immediately asked what happened. Apparently, while brushing her teeth, her shirt got caught in the uber wet sink. Having no manners, whatsoever, I joked her about it. And as luck would have it, pagkatapos ko namang magtoothbrush, kailangan talaga na dripping wet din ako dahil sa naglalawang sink ano? Good thing i brought my fantastic Four Jacket a la Jessica Alba.
OMG. Has anyone seen Dashboard Confessional's new video? Chris Carrabba is too hot for words. When did he become so handsome? I mean, before, he was cute, in a grunge-y emo-punk way, with his tattoos and those sideburns. But now, whooohoo... talk about gorgeous. He looks so clean now. Even his face/complexion kinda evened out. Haaaay, mahal ko na ulit sha. I am going to buy their album as soon as its out in the market. I sure hope that they get to visit the Philippines soon--- i will be in the front seat waiting to plant a big one on him.
House update Season 2
Oooh, speaking of the big one, Chase and Cameron got it on during one of the episodes in House Season 2. Kaso lang, mukhang one night stand lang ang nangyari. But still, they look so great together. My only consolation is that they are together in real life. I love this season. there's so many plots to sink your teeth in. galing, galing.
My brother is going to Singapore to watch Coldplay in concert. I envy him. I wish i had that much money to go somewhere.
Plugging!!!
My brother has just opened his own business. Capitalizing on our great genes (ahem), he has just opened a tutorial house where he and a bunch of his Pisay friends will help students either from elementary school to get into a science high school, or high school to pass Ateneo or UP. If you know someone who's interested, just go to ISiP, located at Wilson Street in Greenhills.
What are their credentials?
1. All of them are from Philippine Science High School- most of them director's listers.
2. They graduated with honors in UP with a degree in Engineering and other Science related course
3. My brother was a valedictorian from Kinder to Grade 6, Director's Lister in High school, DOST scholar in college and a board topnotcher in Electrical Engineering.
4. MY brother was able to help me in my Math series in college, and knowing how much of a brainless twit i am in that subject, I would consider it his major success.
Kaya ayan, sign up your children, cousins, siblings etc. etc. Just send me a message if you have further questions.
Disclaimer: To avoid any more accusations of showing my hubris, please note that my brother is the genius, not me. Sha ang BRAINY HIGH at ako naman ang NICE (GIRL) HIGH.
Kumain ulit kaming mago officemates sa Krocodile Grill sa Greenbelt at napatunayan ko talaga na hindi maganda ang pag-uugali nila dun. Lalo na yung dalawang bulldogs na bisor. lets call them Odette Khan at Joy Viado. Kelangan ba na palipatin kami ng table, o kaya ay paikut ikutan kami na parang hindi magbabayad?
thank God i'm over him. FOr some reasons still unknown, i no longer think about him. I do not have that crazy urge to look at him, text him, impress him or make him realize my existence. Currently, he has joined the ranks of my "nothings".
This is a whole new era... and I am liking it.
After forwarding the Goldilocks text jokes to my perk friends, I got replies from Queer (who replied a little later that "inulan sha ng batikos" dahil sa kakornihan... pero finorward nya pa rin dahil takot siyang maging cake) and Gorj who asked how im getting along. That's sweet considering na he should have taken me out a long time ago nung nagmomotmot pa ako sa nonexistence ng MTB- Banana affair. The morning after (as in early morning), he texted if i was free for lunch. Akala ko naman libre, kaya hindi ko sinabihan sina Flamey etc. dahil baka magtampo at ako lang ang ililibre. Yun pala, KKB, siguro nagbago ng isip nung nakitang okay na ako. hehe. Nung nalaman kong hindi pala libre ang lunch na yun, i texted Flamey to have lunch at sumama sa pagpapakitang gilas kay gorj ng aming buhok. the lunch date made me miss my friends so much that i texted all my friends to have lunch with me the following day. (actually, it was flamey's idea because she got into a fight with one of her officemates).
Kinabukasan, mamba, flamey and I went to have our lunch at RCBC since North park/ Max's were brimming with people. At syempre, kelangan kung sino ang walang pera/ nagtitipid/ nagdidiyeta, siya talaga ang may pinakamalaking gastos ano? Talagang pulubi na ako. At kamustahin mo ang karma ko? ang bilis talaga.
Scene 1: after choosing our lunch, i had the audacity to joke Flamey that she lost her food ID pass, thus, she would have to pay moolah for the lost card. Akalain mo bang ako ang makakaiwan nung food pass ko? at ang inutil na waiter, sinundan lang ako at pinanood magpanic sa may counter bago ibigay ang food pass. Nakakahiya.
Scene 2: Upon arriving at my work space, i automatically saw my boss Ms. DT and her wet blouse. I immediately asked what happened. Apparently, while brushing her teeth, her shirt got caught in the uber wet sink. Having no manners, whatsoever, I joked her about it. And as luck would have it, pagkatapos ko namang magtoothbrush, kailangan talaga na dripping wet din ako dahil sa naglalawang sink ano? Good thing i brought my fantastic Four Jacket a la Jessica Alba.
OMG. Has anyone seen Dashboard Confessional's new video? Chris Carrabba is too hot for words. When did he become so handsome? I mean, before, he was cute, in a grunge-y emo-punk way, with his tattoos and those sideburns. But now, whooohoo... talk about gorgeous. He looks so clean now. Even his face/complexion kinda evened out. Haaaay, mahal ko na ulit sha. I am going to buy their album as soon as its out in the market. I sure hope that they get to visit the Philippines soon--- i will be in the front seat waiting to plant a big one on him.
House update Season 2
Oooh, speaking of the big one, Chase and Cameron got it on during one of the episodes in House Season 2. Kaso lang, mukhang one night stand lang ang nangyari. But still, they look so great together. My only consolation is that they are together in real life. I love this season. there's so many plots to sink your teeth in. galing, galing.
My brother is going to Singapore to watch Coldplay in concert. I envy him. I wish i had that much money to go somewhere.
Plugging!!!
My brother has just opened his own business. Capitalizing on our great genes (ahem), he has just opened a tutorial house where he and a bunch of his Pisay friends will help students either from elementary school to get into a science high school, or high school to pass Ateneo or UP. If you know someone who's interested, just go to ISiP, located at Wilson Street in Greenhills.
What are their credentials?
1. All of them are from Philippine Science High School- most of them director's listers.
2. They graduated with honors in UP with a degree in Engineering and other Science related course
3. My brother was a valedictorian from Kinder to Grade 6, Director's Lister in High school, DOST scholar in college and a board topnotcher in Electrical Engineering.
4. MY brother was able to help me in my Math series in college, and knowing how much of a brainless twit i am in that subject, I would consider it his major success.
Kaya ayan, sign up your children, cousins, siblings etc. etc. Just send me a message if you have further questions.
Disclaimer: To avoid any more accusations of showing my hubris, please note that my brother is the genius, not me. Sha ang BRAINY HIGH at ako naman ang NICE (GIRL) HIGH.
Kumain ulit kaming mago officemates sa Krocodile Grill sa Greenbelt at napatunayan ko talaga na hindi maganda ang pag-uugali nila dun. Lalo na yung dalawang bulldogs na bisor. lets call them Odette Khan at Joy Viado. Kelangan ba na palipatin kami ng table, o kaya ay paikut ikutan kami na parang hindi magbabayad?
basta, hindi sila nakakatuwa.
Bond... Re Bond
Yes, I did it. after how many years of planning and dreaming of one day having gloriously straight hair, i finally had the energy and the moolah to de-frizz my super pasaway hair. Thank you to my medical reimbursement and Flamey, who dragged me right into the salon, my hair will no longer defy me.
The procedure was painful. it felt like i paid the Salon to wreak damage on my head. Its not only a Salon, its also a Masochist's haven. It took 7 bloody hours to wash, iron, treat, cellophane and blow dry my hair. I pity my hairdresser. Her arms are as massive as an ancient gladiator.
Not only did i get robbed of this XXX amount of dinero, I also had to bear 2 days of not washing my hair. Kadiri. Parang grasa na ang buhok ko.Okay sana kung nasa bahay lang ako, at least magulang at kapatid ko lang ang mangookray sa akin. Ngunit hindi. I had to go to the office on Monday to display to the entire world my pomada hairdo. At hindi lang yun, nag orient pa ako the whole day.
In fairness naman, the pain was worth it. When I finally cleansed my hair (a day less than what the hairdresser advised), it was straight and manageable, a good thing considering my volatile nature, especially when it comes to my hard earned money. Baka gusto nilang kulutin ko ang mga buhok nila... sa ilong?!?
I'm happy because im finally one step closer to being gorgeous. 199 steps na lang. Yahoo.
Rants and Rage
This week is crazy.
I havent had a single peaceful sleep this week. I dont know if its the stress or my normal energizer bunny behavior that is robbing me of quality doze-off time. All i can say in a few weeks time, my system will finally give me the spanking i deserve.
Remember my story of misfortune? apparently, that is not yet over. Last Wednesday (i could have told this story in vivid details if only i had enough energy to create a post) was a sucker day for me. Early morning, I was assaulted by the long line going to the office. I had to wait for 20 minutes before any fx arrived. Unfortunately, the first fx could not accommodate enough passengers to include me. So, i patiently waited for the next ride, which arrived 5 minutes after the first. I was sure that i would be in that car since i was 5th in line. But noooooo... some effing, good for nothing, shameless sonofagun cut the line and just when i was about to enter the middle seat ( i was the last) this uncouth bastard immediately entered and closed the door on me. Whatthe?!?! Thank God I hate public display of Violence or else, i would have knocked on the door, bashed the window, grabbed him by the ear and hauled his pathetic ass to Pluto. I swear, i had a rage blackout.
ANyway, since i couldnt do anything else, i went back to my line where i was supposed to be the first passenger for the next ride. Since it was dyahe to go to back to the front, i opted to just stand behind the girl. But no, she had someone with her who, without much shame, went in front of me. Fine, you'd say, maybe he didnt know you that were in the front of the previous line. Ahem, on the contrary, i'm damn sure they knew. I even saw them alight the tricycle and made eye contact with them while they went behind me in the line. And to make matters worse, the girls behind me called my attention to inform me, with that "mahiya ka naman" look, "na nauna kami sa pila." This time, I could not stop my inner demons from lashing back at them. With all the Cherie Gil powers i could muster, I told them in a controlled but gigil tone, "actually, ako po yung nasa unahan kanina. Dapat nga dun ako sa unang FX. May sumingit lang" and turned my back on them. To avoid my dagger look, they said "oo nga eh. Ang daming nag cut ng line." I opted to shut up instead of displaying my prowess for shouting invectives.
When i got to the office, i was so pissed that I had to eat my second breakfast for the day. Who would have known that i would eventually be the ordertaker and cashier of our entire department. I hate getting orders, I hate it. I always tend to forget something or to make a mistake when I'm summarizing the orders.
As usual my genius for mathematics (read: SARCASTIC) helped me get their orders hassle-free... HUwaaa... I was toxic that entire morning just getting their orders, instructing the delivery guy, computing their payment, and giving them their change. I didnt start working until i gave everyone their food and changes. Great, i lost 4 hours of productive work.
At the end of the day, I had to call Mamba to request for her company (and money) to buy my Friday Costume (this week: University color). Di ako nagbibiro, ang hirap maghanap ng Maroon. Anyway, we didnt get to buy the blouse since we were busy looking for more "maroonier" dress.
after stuffing ourselves with fastfood meals, we went home. I remembered i needed to buy some toiletries so instead of directing the tricycle to our house, I told him to proceed to the grocery. and guess what? just when i was about to enter the door, the security guy closed it. As in, it was a foot from me... and it would have been less embarrassing if the door happened to be opaque. Ngunit hindi. The guard had a long hard look on my face. Major bad trip. I went home and paid another moolah.
Friday
Okay, so the maroon shirt i bought was not maroon. It was eggplant violet. Who cares? At least i didnt look like a moving sto. nino. It was a toxic day, as usual. and to cap it off, our lecture we facilitated didnt push through, making the client shoot cosmic looks of hate. well, not our fault.
We had our meeting which wasn't very productive since i cant hear what gelli was saying. The ambiance was rowdy and I couldnt enjoy the place unless we were the ones being rowdy.
Ambec and LMF picked me up to have dinner. Kahit na past 9 na, dinner kung dinner pa rin ako. pasta, chicken and salad at naubos ko sha. After that, we went to Greenbelt to continue the pursuit of LMF to deplete all her money. Sana ibinigay na lang nya sa amin. NOt an hour after our full dinner, we went to Seattle's Best to get our caffeine fix. ahem, ako lang pala. Cream based pala ang drinks nila.
The reason for the pagwawaldas/ shopping extreme/ dinner ala last supper/ coffee talk was because of the unexpected, but surely temporary demise of LMF and Pancit Canton's relationship. Yes, success story number 1 is failing. Who could tell that behind those smiling eyes and roses, they were falling into pieces?
IF the two of them, with their 6 years of relationship, cant make it work, how about for normal people like me?
