Yes, I have been a bad, bad blogger.
Its not that i have less stories to tell, nor is it because all my angsts are gone. Its just that I really dont have time to post and because I have so many competitors (in using the computer) here at home.
Anyway, in a nutshell, my life is great. Not perfect, but great. I have an amazing boyfriend whom my parents have finally accepted (Big girl na ako! yedey!), I am not dirt poor (but still poor at some levels), I have a new phone to replace my damaged phone, and im not as bored at work as i initially thought. The only downside to having these good things come my way is that I am stress-free, thus, the rationale for my "happier" figure. But at some aspect that's not too bad because I am happy (and I am gloating, nyahahaha!).
So what has happened for the past couple of months? Not much really except basking in the glory of my dream relationship which has finally come true. A few days before Christmas, my pumpkin's family invited me over for dinner. At first, i felt nervous because I am not exactly Ms. Prim and Proper. But once I entered their house, his dad immediately greeted me and his mom even gave me a kiss. Have I told you already that I am included in their evening prayers? Ewik has a great and loving family and im so glad that I didn't make any booboos for the entire evening.
The sweetest thing is that they even had a huge cake baked for me to bring home to my family. and they even said, "balik ka anna ha?" and "punta ka dito palagi" so i guess they even liked me. Ewik's brother even gave me a post Christmas gift (3 bottles of cologne). So thank you, thank you to his family, Tito Chris, Tita Mely, Ate Fiel, Kuya Roland, Gracia and Andres (the cutie nephew).
Ayun, I shall stop bragging na.

My Bad
Note to self (again):
When sending a personal email using your company email, double check first the recipient of the message. You may be sharing your deepest, darkest secret* to the HR Manager of a multinational company. And yes, there is no RECALL button. And yes yes, i am using company resources.
* Good thing my message was a simple question

Lack of Color
I dont know what is wrong with me.
I feel... no, scratch that.
I don't feel.
The root? The reason? I dont know. I dont want to know.
"Sa 5 taong pinagsamahan natin, nagtitiis na lang ako for the last two years."
"Mabait naman sha eh. Ayaw ko shang saktan kaya kahit hindi ko na sha mahal, kakayanin ko. Kaya ko naman yun eh."
"Ok naman ako. May baby na naman kami eh... and i'm friends with him. But i'm dating someone new."
" Nasa hospital sha ngayon. naka confine pati anak nya. wala nga nagbabantay eh. bumababa pa sha ng may dextrose para bantayan ang baby nya. Yung asawa nya, mag-a abroad daw kasama ang babae nya."
"Putangina nya, Anna, bullshit sya"
Real Drama. Real Words spoken by the people i work with, the same people I chat with everyday. Sadness, betrayal, hate swirling inside my head. Its like wearing Prada beside a homeless guy garbed in a tattered rag. No matter how great you look, you feel sick to your stomach knowing that things are not right.
Yes, everything seems great, but in the pit of my stomach, i know that its not entirely true.

The Amazing Twins... the Finale
Peter and Paul
They were supposed to show the entire world that their silence is a prelude to something brilliant.
I was supposed to see them walking along the busy streets of Makati in their dashing corporate attire and I would finally have the courage to ask them out for coffee and hear them talk about their lives so far.
They were not supposed to leave so abruptly with so much life and so many people who love them to leave behind.
I admit, I never got to know them on a deeper level although I wanted to. The twins were the most gorgeous yet elusive of all my male batchmates. Everyone wanted to get a piece of them but only a few really were allowed to get into their space.
I'm happy because they graced my life with their presence, that more than once, I became the recipient of their tentative but heart-tugging smile. I'm even proud to say that once, I became the object of their prank where they pretend to be the other person. Yes, I am thankful to God for even the smallest interaction that we had.
When we went to the final wake and the burial, Jack and Frodo asked us to write a little message for Paul and Peter which will be given to their parents to read. I stopped, reminisce, and held on to that blue scented paper for what seemed like forever. My mind was blank, i felt so guilty for having nothing to say except how I used to have a crush on both of them and that Peter used to be my 'alaga' in Memcom. Finally scribbling something true and heartfelt to say, I gave the paper to Jack and Frodo and watched the huge number of people in the Twin's wake. Despite their quiet nature, they were well loved by everyone around them. I looked at the grieving parents and tears started falling unconsciously. I turned my gaze on the twin's girlfriends. Paul's girlfriend of 2 years was looking blank and I felt sorry for her loss. I was amazed that Peter had a girlfriend, not because he's not goodlooking (he is, extremely) but because between the two, he was the more silent one. We found out that they have only been together for barely 3 weeks. I will not judge who grieves more, the one who has been with Paul for more than 2 year, or the one who never got the chance to experience how great it was to be loved by Peter.
When Tubby, Flamey and I had the chance to rest in Paul's room, I joked that this was the closest we'll ever be to being the twin's girlfriends. and Tubby, answered half jokingly, that will never happen, past, present and future. and we all agreed.
With this, I want to thank Paul and Peter for their smiles and their presence that made all the girls in Econ fall at their feet. Thank you Paul, for smiling at me more often, for talking to me more often. Thank you peter for choosing me as your Commhead in Ecosoc, your groupmate in BA, and being Ms. June in the Grandtrad.
You will be missed.

My Month
What can I say about our firsy monthsary? its PIG OUT TIME!
Seriously, it was everything I wanted. It wasnt grand, corny, mushy or nonexistent. He greeted me with a sweet good morning, michiko message that could melt anyone's heart. He emailed me, texted me, he never let me forget that it's our monthsary today.
So ayun, I had to keep myself occupied for the next couple of hours to prevent myself from literally running away and meeting him. Finally, when its time to leave, na toxic pa ako sa office kaya dyaraaaan, late ako for the mass. Since we've been together, we make it a habit to hear Mass together at least once a week. Thanksgiving kung baga.
With only a can of tuna and a small siopao for lunch, no wonder my stomach was growling by the time we said Thanks be to God. Since 'planning ahead' is not in our dictionary, we had to scout the entire greenbelt area to look for a place to eat. We ended up at Kitchen where we had an chicken for an appetizer, pandan chicken for main course and pasta as an after-the-main course. Di naman kami matakaw ano?
After our food trip, we had a walk in the park-- Greenbelt Park, that is. We looked like two 'syano making kulitaa under the brightly- lit trees. Shempre, Kahit pangit ang phone namin pareho (nasira ang beautiful phone ko samantalang nawala nya ang p9 nya), that didnt stop us from taking pictures (ugly pictures) of ourselves.
As a monthsary gift, he gave me a gold bracelet with green Swarovskis because he remembered it being my favorite color. I almost cried in surprise. the thing is, my gold bracelet wth smaller but colorful swarovskis was destroyed and can no longer be repaired (sumikip na sha sa akin dahil nagkulang ng 'links'). If i remember it correctly, it was during the time when I agreed to be his baby girl (a month ago). Siguro nasanay na ako dahil for more than a year, suot ko yung bracelet na yun kaya when it was ruined, I felt that there's always something missing. I never told him this but i can consider it a coincidence or fate na he was able to give me something that I've been wanting for an entire month now. Amazing lang kasi his gift was perfect.
So ayun, he drove me home minus the usual traffic that we usally encounter during weekdays. We went to the nearest Starbucks at our place and bought a Venti caramel frap and banoffee pie (both favorites) and decided to take them out since there is no more seats for us. Besides, it was late na rin. Kamustahin mo naman ang pumpkin ko, nangdekwat pa ng stainless fork from Starbucks! anover? Baka mamya, hindi na kami papasukin dun.
So ayun. I just wanted to make kwento. kahit walang point, walang creativity, walang eklat. Gusto kong magkwento dahil may puso pa rin ako to write. Yun nga lang, minus the angst dahil wala na ako nun.
DI naman masama di ba? I've waited this long. the least I can do is to relish every detail of it.
In short, im gloating over my perfect, wonderful, heart-tugging first monthsary... because I can ;-)

Wow Mali!
Note to self: Be sure to read text messages carefully before replying... you may be admitting a murder without you knowing it
A funny/ freaky thing happened last night. I was listening to the radio, so engrossed in my "me-time" when a tita of mine from Baguio texted me about my brother's incident. Since I was used to people sending me get well soon messages, I didn't thoroughly read it, although I was able to catch the words extend, Kuya's name, prayers, and soul. Soul? Wait... that is so not right. Nevertheless, i replied the normal message i send to the well-wishers, Thank you tita.
Minutes later, i received a text message coming from the same tita. it said, " Hi again, Anna Banana. Im sorry, nagkamali pala ako ng intindi sa text message ng kuya. Im glad that your Kuya Paul was able to survive. We will pray for his quick recovery."
Apparently, my tita thought my brother was dead and instead of correcting her false notion, I even thanked her! Gawsh... stupid me. Buti na lang my brother is on his way to recovery kundi... nyak... morbid thoughts.

11/20/06
On Monday, MTB and I will be celebrating our first monthsary. I cant say that it was a breeze but I feel that the first month is a learning experience for both of us. I love him to pieces and everyday, i learn to love everything about him more and more. ;-)
As a monthsary special, I would like to list down the things I learned to love about him and the world in general because of him:
... i learned to take care of myself because a healthy life is a longer life to spend with him and my loved ones- that means quitting smoking, cutting down my drinking sprees, eating healthy food and going home early
... I learned to love riding the MRT home just to have more time to talk to him and be with him, despite the chaos and confusion and smelly people inside the train
... I learned to take the stairs going from Glorietta to SM Makati despite my three inch heels because he made me realize its faster and less crowded
... I learned to love traffic because we get to talk about life and all its absurdities...
... I learned to love my 'farmer' hands because whenever he holds them, he makes me feel like they are the softest and smoothest
... I learned that one can still be lovable and cute even if he wears the same shirt in every occasion
... I learned that good things do come to those who wait...I'm so glad i waited :-)
To my eriko-san, I love you more than I can say. ;-) thank you for the love and the friendship. I hope that we will still play Guess-that-song-in-10-seconds for more years to come. Ich liebe dich.

The Tie that Binds Us All
Imagine being roused to sleep by your kasambahay at 12am in the morning with a worried look on her face. She got this weird phone call minutes earlier asking her if this certain person lives at our house-- that person being my brother. Just when I was about to get up and call my dad, a very persistent doorbell was heard resounding in the silence of our house. Clad in my flimsiest 'boldstar kung boldstar' nighties, I opened the screen door and found myself being flashed with a flashlight by two policemen.
Police: Dito po ba nakatira si (name of my kuya)?
Anna Banana: Bakit po?
Police: Anjan ba si (name of my father)?
Anna Banana: Bakit nga po? ano po ba ang nangyari?
Police: Kaano ano ka ba ni (Name of Kuya)?
Anna Banana: Sister nya ako.
(one police officer whispers to another to ask if he can tell the news to me)
Police: pakitawag na lang ang papa mo.
With blood rushing to my head and my heart beat pumping like I have just jogged for an hour, I opened the door to my parents' room and called out to my father in the dark.
Immediately, he got up and went out of the house to talk to the police officers. Rattled as hell and not having a single clue as to what was happening, I walked back and forth our kitchen and wait until my father entered. Seconds later, he and my mom were dressed and were ready to take off. I asked what happened and they told me that my brother was rushed to the emergency room because he was held up and shot in a dark street only 10 minutes away from our house.
I felt my heart stopped for a few seconds before it started racing again. I can feel my blood drain and my hands get clammy and cold. He was just sleeping a while ago, i said to myself. How could this thing happen? I do not live near a slum area, our place is composed of little subdivision and i've been living there since i can remember (even going home at the wee hours of the morning) but nothing like this ever happened to anyone I know.
when my parents were about to leave the house to go to the hospital where my brother was brought, another sequence of doorbell was heard. Thinking that the police officers were asking for some 'lagay', my dad got some cash from his wallet and went out. Apparently, they just asked if we have a car to go there because if there is none, they can drive my parents there. Aaaaah, my faith in the police was restored.
According to the initial update we got, my brother was on his way to the office when he was held up by an unknown person who got his bag, cellphone and wallet, and was left lying on the street. Fortunately, a police car was making some rounds at that area and saw my brother. Instead of apprehending the criminals, they immediately rushed my brother to the hospital, a wise decision. Good thing that Kuya puts his company ID in his pocket so the police was able to identify him.
Its heartbreaking to have this kind of incidents happen especially to good people. We seldom see my Kuya since he works in a call center and is staying in a pad with his officemates. He only goes home once a week, sometimes once every two weeks to watch tv, play online games, and sleep. Just last Sunday when MTB visited our house and brought cake and ice cream (the latter given a day before when he also visited), he almost ate the entire cake. I told him, "magtira ka naman para kina mommy!" and he asked where it came from. My lola, who was there during that time told my Kuya to go home often para he would know and meet my suitor.
WIth this once a week arrangement going on for more than a year, we have become complacent that we no longer get worried when he doesnt go home. My brother, being a very reserved and quite person by nature, doesnt share a lot about his life so we know nothing about his friends, his place, his work (except his company and its location) etc. This incident is an eye opener for us to be more involved in each other's lives.
As a sign of my commitment to the family, I didnt report for work for two days because I went to my Kuya's office, made sure that they will be covering for all hospital expenses incurred. I was also with my mom when my brother had his emergency operation because the doctors failed to see the extent of the damage. When they conducted several tests the day after, they found out that the bullet passed through my brother's intestines and damaged his colon and intestines and partly, his liver. There were 6 holes in his intestines that's why they had to take it out to clean it and re-direct the flow of excretions so that my brother will not be poisoned.
I was the only person inside the OR lounge when the attending surgeon called in to inform me of the operation. I was frazzled because I was the bearer of the news and the doctor was a total ass (he was very House M.D.- like). But being as kulit as I am, i was able to get the picture and coherently relay the message to my parents.
The first time we visited him after the operation was excruciating. He had so many apparatus attached to him and sakto that when my dad and I visited (only 2 people are allowed to enter during the 2-hour visiting hours), he was crying due to pain and vomiting bile. I cant help but cry as well as we saw him suffering. It was so difficult and painful for us to see him that way but we had to show strength so that he will be assured that everything will be alright.
Fortunately, my brother seems to be recovering quickly although the doctor informed us that he will stay in the ICU for a couple more weeks to avoid complications. I am immensely grateful to everyone who has shown his/her support and love, especially my relatives who never fail to call us and ask for my Kuya's status. I appreciate also my officemates' concern and my boss's consideration when I had to absent myself for work for 2 days.
This incident has brought my family closer to each other and stronger like never before. We are still hoping for the best. We'll continue to pray that everything will be alright and that justice will be served in due time. I am certain that God loves us very much and I am very fortunate to have a very loving and supportive family. I know that no matter what happens, we'll always stay together. No gunshot, no bad people, no accidents can hurt us because strength of character and faith in God are what my family is all about. ;-)

I am certain that God loves us very much and I am very fortunate to have a very loving and supportive family. I know that no matter what happens, we'll always stay together. No gunshot, no bad people, no accidents can hurt us because strength of character and faith in God are what my family is all about. ;-)

The Ultimate Kwento Ever
Its too amazing not to give a detailed kwento kaya kahit na I am still too overwhelmed to coherently and accurately give a blow by blow account, I shall try my best to tell how my unrequited love became unrequited no more.

Its so funny that when I was still going boinkers over our "malabo" status, he was actually thinking that we were already going steady. Of course I could not fault him for thinking that way. He is inexperienced with these things so he equates going out/ accompanying me to the MRT/ taking me home as a sign of our official togetherness. As usual, nag feeling na naman ang mama.
Anyway, since he started working na for his new company, we wouldnt see each other on a daily basis and would just text me on how his day went etc. I'd be touch whenever he would go out of his way to meet me in Glorietta just to walk me to the MRT. So when we he invited to a date a couple of Saturdays ago (october 14), I was thrilled. Yedey! this is it na talaga! he is finally, seriously courting me na. So yes, he wanted to take me to...
SM.
wheeeng. Mali eh.. maling mali. So i had to take over so as to prevent this first official date from turning into a disaster. I told him we'll go to Eastwood instead, have dinner, watch a movie and have coffee after. Buti na lang at masunurin ang bata. Oo lang ng oo.
So he picked me up at around 4pm in the afternoon ( he doesnt like late night gimmicks). Of course, my dad was dumbfounded. His little baby is turning into a young lady and he is in denial. ( but this is a different story) We watched the departed and had dinner at Cafe Adriatico para talagang 'date na date' na ito. I dont know what caused the conversation to turn sour but at the end of our date, I was pissed as hell. All i could remember was that he proposed to me like he was just reading the "BFC" book (he was given a pep talk by his friends who collectively call themselves BFC) and he also told me that he wouldnt say the L word, which for me is stupid. I refused to talk to him and he took me home immediately without fixing things.
I waited for his "im home" text and dropped him the bomb that I dont think things will work out between us. I assured him that i will still be a friend to him etc. etc. Since he didnt reply immediately after that, I thought that he was mad which was the last thing that i wanted to happen. I called him up to check if we were still okay and i found out that he still hasnt read my text. Knowing that i kinda preempted the drama sequence, I hang up and waited until he read it..
okay... waiting... hmmmm... waiting... my eyelids were slowly dropping...
and my baby singing ringtone resounded in my empty room.
"... im glad that u enjoyed our date, well it was meant to be a date. I dont want our relationship to end. I've found the girl na magpapasaya sa akin and it is you. i promise to make this real. no more if evers. sana you can give me a chance. pls reply michiko. can you still be my "michiko"?
wala na... patay na... who can resist him when he says these words? Tao lang naman ako... so yes, I forgave him and i told him that its okay if he doesnt say the "L" word yet. At kamustahin mo ang lolo mo, nag I love you na sa text.... wala na lalo akong nagawa...
The morning after, he woke me up with his lovely words... he said that he was thankful for last night because he realized he loves me na pala and he doesnt want to lose me. I told him na sayang at ang kanyang first I love you ay via text lang. Hindi na sha nag reply.
So okay. I texted Karyll to tell her that we were able to work things out. While in a middle of composing a text, our bibong housemaid, Ate Yen was telling me in her loud ilonggo accent that he is here again.
Who is here again? I asked.
"Si "MTB", may dalang flowers!"
Nawindang ako. Naloka. Nalaglag ang puso. ganun pala yun...
It appeared that after he received my text, he tried to make things right. He was in Market Market to have some papers photocopied so it was there that he bought me those beautiful red roses with green ribbon (favorite color ko kasi eh). He drove to my house without thinking...without any preparation, at 11:30 in the morning! parang Intsik!
Nakakatawa lang talaga siya. He looked nervous when he told me that he's not gonna stay long. He just dropped by to tell me in person that he loves me then he took my hand, waiting for a response.
all i could sum up saying was...
Nawiwindang ako.
Ayuuuuun... so ayun na ang kwento... Wala na akong masabi pa. He just makes me so happy that I cant think nor find the right words to make this kwento more creative. Basta, mahal ko sha.
