"bitterness is overrated"
- Carl "secret member of Sponge Cola" Ng
Last night, i allowed myself to once again release the sadness hiding inside me. No, i didnt cry for my story of unrequited love c/o MTB, although i did try to purge some tears there too. Unfortunately, that good old radio wasnt cooperating. (a sign that i am living a boring, nondescript life is when i count on sad, mushy songs to jerk a tear from me.)Sadly, i tried crying on hiphop and disco night and so i failed miserably. thank God for images of ghastly death and lyrics to my funeral song (the Scientist), i was able to shed some good 3 tears which gave me the "doe eyed" / sad little puppy look.
I feel that people like me only allow sadness to creep in once they have nothing better to do. ironically, we only use loneliness as a "filler" in our stress-free lives.
Melancholy is a reminder that we are still normal, it grounds us back to earth. In a life devoid of difficulties and pain provoking thoughts, we will never know if we are truly alive or just merely hallucinating.
Is Bitterness overrated? oh, most definitely. But I'd never have it any other way.
